Hankinson just defeated Kindred.  They are now 2-0.....look for them to be in the hunt.  Also the new coop of Finley, sharon, hope-page will be tough.  Dillan Ostrom is a key player and has contributed to their first 2 wins of the season.  I also think that Oak Grove could contribute well.

random stat: ostrom had 15 points in first game, 25 in second.

i dont know much about region 1 but i saw Kindred play last year and they looked like a respectable team and only lost 1 starter? if i remember right.  and after playing in the region championship last year i look for them to be back in it this year too.

I'm going to pick Finley Sharon Hope Page as my team from Region 1 though I'd be a lot more afraid of facing them on the ball diamond.  They have some good young athletes and are the only team I really hear much about.  My real reason for posting on this is to call out Horne98 as a habitual pot stirrer.  My actual knowledge of Region 1 is limited.

I'd take Kindred to make it out of this region

Kindred sure played well last night, dominated Finley Sharon Hope Page, I think the final score was 75-46 or so.

what can i say that is my trade, but  region 1 is limited but again they have some of the best athletes in the state. Kindred is my pick.

Anyone see the Kindred hope paige game. I really dont think any of the top teams dominate one or the otherm just gonna depend who shows up and plays the best at the region tournament.

Lisbon

Hankinson

kindred

Oak Grove

that be my top 4, but dont get me wrong, look out for a sleeper.

kindred was ahead by 7 at the half and just before half fshp lost their freshman center with a bad sprained ankle, final score 76-45 kindred

i think northern cass is the sleeper of the region. justin dunn is a nice player and he has some talent around. it really matters how they gel. Northern cass is always a mystery.

Im not very impressed with NC backcourt, i think if you put some pressure on them they would struggle. I agree Dunn is a solid player.

http://www.dpi.state.nd.us/resource/fin ... 6facts.csv

There is a file on this site that gives up to date information.  It is not the same place where I found the Region 1 enrollments I posted the other day (those were from a NDHSAA site I believe, but darned if I can find it again!!)...these numbers are very similar.

I don't know if I practiced more than anybody, but I sure practiced enough. I still wonder if somebody - somewhere - was practicing more than me.

The Hankinson and Lisbon Matchup should be a dandy but I dont think Mauch will guard Carlblom or the other way around

I will take Lisbon out of this region. It may not be the consensus pick, but anytime you can play on the ball defense like Lisbon, you give yourself a chance in any game.

fshp is a really young team.. look for them next year. this year they will need some coaching and im not sure they will get out of the districts. i would take lisbon or hankinson to take Region 1. mauch is too dominating. kindred plays a great team game but if someone gets hot against them i think they will be in trouble.

what about central class. They return two starters in sam back and derek drege. They start three guys over 6'3". They have a victory over valley city and appear to have some young talent.

central cass has a shot of making it to the regional tourny. just like everyone else in dist. 2. central cass has always had tall players.

the only one player on that team that looked impressive at all was sam back.
