So is there a new NDHSAA rule disallowing the host sites from turning the lights off for the starting lineups of the championship game? Always doing something to take away some of the excitement (backing up the student sections from behind the hoops).

Is it possible to do in Minot?

Same thing happened at state A. I'm guessing it has to do with the situation in Grand Forks.

What situation in grand forks? 3 years ago at the b in grand forks they didn't turn lights off. First time I had seen lights on for Champipnahip introductions.

The lights were on at B girls tourney in Grand Forks this year.

What I'm saying, is that since that championship had the lights on, they decided to have the lights on for every championship so it would be equal.

Every state A tournament I've been to, the lights were off.
(That I know of)

Congrats to HCV, Tronis McKay and Aanon Moody. What a great tournament, HUGE crowd, great basketball and a terrific finish! This is why the State Class B Boy's Tournament is the "Crown Jewel" of ND State Tournaments!

Can we please talk about that final minute? Red Fox cans a 3 to make it 60-58 with a minute left. Baesler scores down low to tie it up with about 40 seconds. Then Red Fox fires a long, contested 3 with 25 on the shot clock. I understand trying to be a hero and he was feeling himself after his last make, but he's too good of player to fall for that. And so HCV gets the ball with 25 seconds left, Henningsgard makes a super savvy play with the wing hand off and then drifting to the corner. But I feel bad for Steve, he knew after that shot was a mistake but hats off to HCV for capitalizing. Henningsgard was absolutely fearless on those drives and never settled for jump shots even after all his misses at the rim in this game. Incredible player, what a shot and what a tournament!! The best B in a long, long time!

I don't know what the deal with that was. Lights were off last year in Minot too.

i was disappointed too that lights stayed on. They were off for State VB a few years back. I think it adds to atmosphere. Are we getting like NCAA fiasco with video boards? Get fired up. Dome was almost full & it was fun. that would've added to it.

This atmosphere and game are the reasons why I promote staying with 2 class system. 3 classes would take this away.

Not to take anything from Kyle. But that wasn't a super savvy handoff. Jacob Yankton poked the ball away and it popped into hands of Austin Reed.

That is correct BigBlue. I'm surprised anyone thought it was a handoff. It wasn't close. If it wouldn't have been poked away, they would have not got that shot off.

Yup. The lights were off 2015 in Bismarck and were also off last year in the dome. That's the part I don't get.

Kind of pointless for them to have the tunnel with lights and smoke if they aren't going to turn the lights off. Still wish they would allow the student sections to stand up to the court like they did a few years back.

my 2 cents, get rid of announcing starting lineups for all games, all sports. I don't get the point of them.

IMO its not about that. It adds to the experience for the players and fans. Makes it more than just any other game, which it is bigger than any other game.

Yeah my bad, I never noticed the poke right to Reed. But Henningsgard was completely unfazed by that and for him to have the awareness to get to the corner when he knew McKay would come up to trap Reed was a really underrated play. His basketball IQ is sensational, not to mention the resilience he showed in the 4th after struggling mightily for the first three quarters.
