Who does everyone have for the district championships??
District 5 - Carrington
District 6 - linton
District 7 - 4winds
District 8 - St. John's
District 9 Shiloh
District 10 turtle lake
District 11 rugby
District 12 bishop Ryan
District 15 Trinity
District 16 Kenmare
I feel pretty good about most of these besides Trinity over Parshall. I'm just a Williston resident so going with the home team!

St John defeats North Star on a 3/4 court buzzer beater.

Had to check it several times to be able to tell if the shot got off before the buzzer, but it did.

Asking a question. the regular season seeding determines the 3&4 seeds going into Regions unless a team lost their first game?
District 12 looks tough.

Yes...unless two teams had already met in the tournament and the lower seed defeated them (example A: District 10...Underwood def. W-W on opening night of districts and both qualified; Underwood receives higher seed for Regions for earning that victory)

Not to take away from that incredible shot, but it is physically impossible to catch the ball, take a dribble and 2 steps, then get a shot off all within 1 second. Never will you see a ref waive that off though, which I can agree with. Hats off to both teams, great game.

if you want to get technical about it, going through the video frame-by-frame from catch until shoot was 1.2 seconds.

How much time was on the clock? Was it 0:01.0? I played with the video and a stop watch. The longest I was able to get was 1.16 seconds and the shortest was 1.06 seconds. I was doing my best to start it as he touched the ball and stopping as he was finished touching it. The issue with this however is the clock operator is supposed to react to the signal from the ref to start the clock. If the ref and clock operator are doing their jobs and not anticipating the touching, the reaction times of starting to put the hand down combined with the operators reaction of pushing the button after seeing the hand lower can easily take a little over a tenth of a second. Even if there was only 1.0 seconds on the clock, they were correct to call it good.

Exactly 1 second was on the clock. I'm not speaking on terms of clock/ref/fundamental discrepancies, I was just stating common sense will tell you that with 1 second left, it is physically impossible to do the move he did (catch, dribble with 2 steps, shoot). As I stated above, I agree with the ref counting the basket, it was an incredible shot and finish to the game. I know many are thankful it was the District Championship and not the Region/State Championship.

we had the same thing happen my senior year in the days of zero on the clock but buzzer hadn't sounded yet.....player caught, turned and shot in less than a second....or did he

in this particular case, with one legit second left.... you have to count it

Out of curiosity I thought I'd give it a try to time it...fastest I had was 1.03 seconds and slowest was 1.11 seconds...seems like the slightest bit of human error could be involved but I also do agree...basket should seems legit. What a way to win a game!
