G1 Ellendale (2-2) 1st seed D5 vs MPB(1-2) 4th seed D6
G2 NGS (1-2) 2nd seed D6 vs EKM (0-3) 3rd seed D5
G3 Kidder County (3-1) 1st seed D6 vs Midkota (0-3) 4th seed D5
G4 Carrington (5-0) 2nd seed D5 vs South Border (2-1) 3rd seed D6

It should give a preview for the Region 5 with the major team missing being Linton HMB (4-0).

Hopefully the weather will cooperate and all the games can be played on schedule.

Good luck to all the teams

MPB took an early lead and never looked back to capture 7th place. MPB was led by Lawton Allen with 22 and Thomas with 13, Midkota was led by M Smith 13 and Wells with 10

5th Place

NGS was without B Fettig as he was resting his knee (torn ACL during football). They were led by Kleppe's 13 pts.

Championship

Carrington 61 Ellendale 59

In a very exciting championship Carrington won the battle of the Cardinals. Carrington took a lead of 10 into halftime, after the half the Ellendale cardinals came out with a very aggressive defense to take a 43-42 advantage going into the 4th quarter. The game seesawed back and forth with Carrington up 3 with a minute to go. Vance dribbled the ball up the court and made a fake drive and confidently swished a nineteen footer to tie the game. Carrington responded with Edland making 2 FT's to take back the lead, Molan was fouled with 11 seconds to go and touched nothing but the bottom of the net with both shots to tie the game at 59 apiece. Ellendale applied pressure with Carrington getting the ball to Edland who drained a shot with 1.8 seconds left. Ellendale had a hurried look from 23 with time expiring that was off the mark.

This game was very exciting and these teams are evenly matched and could possibly could face each other 3 more times this year.

Carrington can really shoot the ball. Very good, well rounded team. Good game, proud of Ellendale for battling back.

Refs certainly didn't decide the game but there were definitely some interesting calls on both ends. I've never seen a player fouled while shooting a three and it be called on the floor. How is that even possible?

Yes,
there were some very interesting calls and non calls, such as a travel in middle of court not called, two hand push in the back not called, etc, etc.

I have saw a call after a 3 pt shot where the ref called it after the shot, we missed the shot and they made the team take it out from the sidelines. please stop calling out officials by name

Both teams played well and look forward to watching more of their games
