I agree for the most part.... but I personally think that Hankinson could easily take it all. Yes they lost against NC and M/NS but that they are a completely different team since then

Wow thanks for all the effort that went into this. Thursdays nights games should be barn burners. I expect a couple more upsets. I would say who ever "survives" Region 1 to represent at state should be a battle tested and seasoned group. I think even though they are getting no love in the polls I think whoever draws them in the first round better "pull up their boots" as they say. Love class B basketball.

??? There is nothing to "agree with for the most part" in the piece you quoted. It is a list of scenarios for the regular season in Region 1. It has nothing to do with how Run thinks the regional tournament will end up....
Places 10-13 are set in stone. 1-9 there is some wiggle room depending on Thursday's games.

The Region 1 tourney is going to be something else. Wow, so many tough teams with really good players.

Yes it is. All four games should be fun to watch. And first time in Scheels arena should make for an interesting and exciting tourney. The Bonanza at NDSCS should provide some good match ups this weekend. Then the long wait for more basketball. :(

They do not have enough shooters/scoring power to win 3 big games against tough teams. Or coaching experience

I see NC or CC knocking off Oak Grove in the Region Championship.

Coaching experience? Really? Cody Mauch, Nick Mauch, and Bailey Hernandez have been doing great. Im not saying that it wouldn't be tough but my money is on them.

Is this a joke? Is there a team in the region that has more coaching experience than Hankinson?

How much do you watch Class B basketball. The Pirates are not my choice, but not because of lack of coaching experience or talent. I just think that getting out of Region 1 is going to be a tough battle for anyone. Any given team on any day can beat you in a multitude of ways. Solid teams and solid coaching. I wouldn't hazard to guess but I would say that NC, M-NS, Hank, and CC are my top 4. NO PARTICULAR ORDER!!!! I think if these 4 teams play each other 4 times each on a neutral court I would think a 9-3 or 8-4 record would win the pool. No favorites no crap all these teams have the pieces to move on its about how they put them together in two weeks. And I would say any of the teams that make the final eight have a chance to pull off an upset. Remember #7 Richland beat # 10 Oak Grove by 6. And #6 Kindred has knocked of #2 M-NS by 3 and #3 Enderlin by 20. #2 M-NS has the best record 3 losses by a total of 13 points, to go along with a tourney win earlier this year. Good luck to all region 1 teams and their fans. The Super Regional is going to provide us with some fabulous ball and some upsets I am sure.

Did you already forget that Enderlin beat Hankinson last night at Hankinson? And just because you have been coaching for a long time does that make you a great coach. It just makes you an old coach. Never said he was a bad coach. When was the last time he coach in a region championship game?

Should be fun, almost March Madness

very interesting...Well I see Oak Grove getting beat right away vs. Richland. OG has good shooters, but I think Richland has better athletes and plays much, much better defense. I also predict that Coach Card ends up with a technical foul called on him at a crucial time.

will be fun to watch Region 1

No, I didn't forget. The experience that those two coaches bring are some of the best in the Region. They have multiple wins under their belts. Its the players that play the game not the coaches they can only do so much. This region is tough hands down. When it comes to tournaments its really any ones game.

If M-NS can commit to playing defense I'd consider them...but they've had games where they've lacked on the defensive end. Enderlin doesn't fall into 'high-scoring' offense IMO but they have enough size to make sure to contest shots and get the rebounds.

Central Cass 80, Milnor/North Sargent 77 in overtime at Wahpeton. No such thing as a day off in region one.
