Region 2

Any idea what the tie breaker between PRFL and Cavalier is going to come down to? Is it going to be point differential between the two teams or their results against the teams above them?

I believe it’s head to head. So points differential should be the difference for placement.

So, the final standings are in. Did anyone think this Region would end up this way? It took the final night of the season to get every team seeded. Hillsboro gets the #1 seed, but they got it by the hair of their chinny chin chin. It will be an exciting tournament.

REGION 2
1. Hillsboro-Central Valley 24-0 (20-1)
2. Grafton 20-4 (18-3)
3. Thompson 20-4 (17-4)
4. Hatton-Northwood 16-8 (16-5)
5. Park River-FL 15-9 (13-7)
6. Cavalier 15-9 (12-9)
7. May-Port-CG 14-10 (12-9)
8. Midway-Minto 12-12 (12-9)
9. Larimore 8-16 (7-12)
10. North Border 6-18 (5-15)
11. Griggs County Central 4-20 (4-17)
12. Finley-Sharon-Hope-Page 2-22 (1-20)
13. Drayton/Valley-Edinburg 0-24 (2-19)

HCV was probably picked to be 2 or 3. MM maybe slid a little farther back than expected. Other than that I don't think anything was that surprising.

No. It didn't.

some of the teams not even in the Hoopster top 30 or whatever it is....

no surprises at all really for me...top 8 are a crap shoot no doubt.....said from day 1

deciding 5 and 6th seed though today may have been the most in depth decision digging since the 3 super regions developed.........also don't write off 9,10,11,12,13 in R2

Hoopster preseason rankings:
Thompson-7th
Grafton-9th
HCV-22nd

Should be a great tournament! Give credit to the defending state champs came in not ranked very high but proved some people wrong. Thompson had a solid year with their loses only coming to teams in the top 10 in the state. With Grafton beating Thompson the last week of the regular season that makes things a little more interesting at the top. Also 4,5,6 in the region are all threats but will need to be on their A game to knock off the top 3 in my mind. I think it’s going to come down to HCV and Thompson again and expecting one heck of a game!

I think Camrud alone being back should have put them up to the towards the top this year....he's the reason they won the State Championship with his rebounds, offense and defense 3 nights in a row..

so their success this year is no mystery.....their ability to win the close ones is no mystery either, didn't anybody watch the Championship vs FW's....ironically FW's is their only loss this year

wouldn't say they are last years Caliber, the older Reed and Henns had paid some dues....also most may not remember how close it was that the older Schwabe and his crew made it to Minot last year....

this year the dynamics of the R2 are much different......
