WDA - Century, Mandan, Dickinson, Belcourt.
EDC - South, Devils Lake, ??

Jamestown and BHS loose all of their top players.

Devils lake will be the best team by far... they have 2 really good returning starters that were sophomores last year and they have many players with varsity experience

Ellen, Lets remember that South only loses two players and Century and Belcourt both return many players so while I agree that Devils Lake is going to be ONE OF THE BETTER teams, saying "best team by far" is going a little overboard.

Bismarck losses their main players. They have one starter left and she was not their main player. I would expect to see Century, Dickinson and Belcourt to be in the top 4. Also in my top 4, I would bet on Mandan. Couldn't imagine Amundson not having his girls ready for at least state. My underdog for next year, Minot. Minot have alot of returning players.

I wouldn't count out Mandan in the West. They lose Collins, but they seem to stress fundamentals as program. We'll see what Belcourt does with that part of the game to be taken seriously next year. In the East, Shanley could make things interesting. South will be strong, but hopefully they will push themselves with a tougher schedule.

How would you suggest they do that? look at their nonconference schedule from this season - bismarck, century, jamestown, and moorhead, all quality programs. south can't help it if the rest of their league is terrible

South will contend for the title next year! They have arguably the 3 best guards in the state returning in Roehrich,Burck, and Fisher.Them 3 with K. Dockter, and R. Wellington starting should be a very nice starting 5.The only problem i see with the bruins is that there going to be small inside, but with a coach like Flaagen he will get them to play. The bruins will take the east.

In the West you have to give the nod to Bis. Century. They return all 5 starters. If Belcourt can figure a way to play good ball on the road they will be the team in the west to watch out for.

The state final game will be south against century and south will take care of some unfinished business.

Megan Roehrich has been lighting it up at the Dakota Showcase and just completed a 27 point outburst against the Dakota Schoolers.

Looking at the stats it looks like Caitlyn Farroh also played very well. I was disappointed neither girls were chosen for the all tournament team yet by looking at the stats both were leaders in the tournament.

Watching DL at the UND team camp, they are going to make some noise this year. I was really impressed at theteo guards one is Mertens and the other is something like Eizimer. She really impressed me. Where has she been?

I'm just saying that she is going to help DL this year. She could shoot, drive, score and get the ball down the court. She was their playmaker and she is quick.

Doing well and being a top player are too different things. She will need to establish herself first, especially against Fargo South. Fargo South is still the one in the east to beat. NO ONE, not even Devils Lake came close. But they did lose a couple seniors. Do they have underclassmen that can step up?

Century only lost Sorenson but BHS lost alot. BHS will be a rebuilding. Mandan will be rebuilding. But in the west, you still have to include them. Dickinson and Belcourt have their squads left. I think from the west it will be Century, Mandan, Belcourt and Dickinson.

BHS has another new coach which would put a strain on any new program. It eventually will have it's toll. Last years BHS players were still Meiers by products.

what was being said was about the DL girl playing against the different competition this summer, not whether she was the top player in the east. But as I said talking to the people in the east she and I think its spelled Eiznzimmer is going to be there to help DL.

How are they going to be compared to South? South has some of their players returning but they still lost some seniors.

I heard they dominated at the Mayville team camp. Although, the Mayville camp was filled with Class B teams and small MN schools. As another poster said their guards looked very good.

East: South will play with a chip on their shoulder after last years title game loss, they will be #1 all season. GFC will finally go to the next step and finish 2nd, they're too good not to. Devils Lake and RR will push for the last 2 spots, with Shanley right in that mix.

West: Century will be top dog in the west, they felt as though they should have played in the title game last year. Mandan, Turtle Mtn, Dickinson, Bismarck all are a horse a piece for the rest of the spots.

Too early to call the complete state tournanment, but write it down - South vs Century Saturday night! :D

Century split with Belcourt last season. If Belcourt can keep their composure on the road with some wins, they will give Century a run. I don't see Bismarck in the top 4. They lost all but one starter. They have really only two coming back with varsity experience. Dickinson could pull an upset too. Their losses were all close. Mandan have one starter back and girls with Varsity experience.

But when it comes to playoff time, everything changes. My pics coming out of WDA:
1. Century
2. Mandan
3. Dickinson
4. Belcourt

belcourt will be good this year if the learn to win on the rode!
dickinson also will have a strong team and of course CHS will be out for the win. the have all returning starters.
but BHS was looked over last year and viewed as the underdogs and they won state. you never know what they will pull together for this year.
