you only named two that made all-state.  for post players i would say kielpinski and steffan, but guards i'm going with lafrance, vance, and privatsky.  messer and knife are on teams that are last in the wda...it's easy to stand out if you don't have anyone else to go to, and unless you can lead a team to a lot of victories single handedly - it's a tough call to rate them that high.

Messer would of started on any other team and would of been pretty much just as good.

I totally disagree with you statement regarding Messer of SM. How is it possible to be a standout on a not so good team unless you are that good. She is only a soph, I feel the next two years she will really show her dominance. She could have started at BHS and CHS the last two years, I would have liked to see her at CHS with the other talent they had they could have at least played Mandan tough, eventhough they did play Mandan tough this last season. She could have been more of an inside presense and taken some of the pressure off of LaFance and Ternes.

Do you honestly think she could have started on those teams the last two years?  So as a freshman she could have started over kate moser and kate muggerud? or whitney ledger and alex buck? i don't think so.  she's good yes, but not that great right now.  giver her time and maybe, but don't say she could have started over them her freshman year.

Kielpinski has to be the favorite from the west and state-wide.  LaFrance is probably runner up from the west, but others could come on with a good season.  In the east Vance, Hanson and Cochran were in the top group of scorers in the EDA.

Kelpinski will win miss basketball even if she doesn't have a good season. With the name she has made with herself in north dakota girls basketball. The voting will be a landslide going to Kelpinski's side. Without her the last 2 state championships mandan would have proboly been screwed. IMO they should just vote for it now!
its okay.....

Not so fast there.  The season is a long ways away.  There are other girls that are just as capable of winning Ms. Basketball as much as Kielpinski.

Kielpinski will win very easy.  There is not even a close second to challenge her.  She already has more championships that every player in the state and I think she will end up with 4?.  This year she will lead the state in points rebounds blocks and wins.  How can you top that?

If Mandan wins state this upcoming year for varsity girls it will be Kelpinski's 5th state championship.
It's a round ball and a round bat, and you got to hit it square.

Kielpinski could break her leg the first game of the season and be Ms. Basketball.

She was better as a junior than anyone will be as a senior and she already has done more in basketball than any player in the state.

noone has said anything about a blown knee or anything playing summerball?  what if that happens to keipinski.  i dont think you can win an award if you dont play your senior year? but not 100% sure.

i think that ms. basketball (like mr. basketball is i believe) is based on the senior year of play. if you don't play...uh...it would be awful hard to win the award.

so if it is based on your senior year and some other senior has a stellar season compared to kielpinksi, will that other senior win? or will it be somewhat bias and kielpinski win?
