Wahpeton at home

Postby heimer » Wed Feb 01, 2017 11:02 am

Can anyone tell me how many foul shots Wahpeton averages at home, and how many they shot against Shanley.

Asking for a friend.

At home Wahpeton averages around 26 free throws and their opponents average around 13.

On the road Wahpeton averages around 25 free throws and their opponents average around 15.

At home Wahpeton has shot a high of 50 and a low of 12. With their opponents at 26 and 8 for high and low.

On the road they have shot a high of 44 and a low of 14. Opponents have a high and low of 23 and 6 when Wahpeton is on the road.

Against Shanley Wahpeton shot 26 and Shanley shot 12.

I hope this in no way is a post/study trying to take away from the best Huskie girls basketball regular season since 1986. It is good you noted that they also shoot almost twice as many FT's on the road as their opponents too, and it has nothing to do with officials. It has to do with a team made up of predominately all guards that attack the basket and get to the line. Shanley has a team made up of two players over 6'1 and they don't do nearly as much off the dribble as Wahpeton and are effective in their style of play. Also I would like to add to your study the fact that Wahpeton plays predominately a 1-3-1 zone and tend to be more conservative on defense. WHS is a very small Class A school that in the last 5 years has been doing a lot of firsts. Five years ago they won their first EDC tourney game since 1986 and qualified for state for the first time in 27 years. They had a 27 game drought of winning even ONE game in the EDC tourney prior to that year . Last year was the first win at State in 30 years. This year is the most wins in the regular season since 1986. It isn't due to other teams shooting less free throws in their home gym. It is about a commitment from a Coach to get his players in the gym and many hours of hard wrk by his players.
