BJ has his good and his bad games which makes me think that he has an alright chance.

From what i've seen from hoplin and looking at some of his stats it looks to me as if he's the heart of that team and that if they didnt have him i dont think they would have been in the game vs. DL in red river.

i picked roerich because i dont really believe in all the elies hipe i hear. but looking at it now it seems that heck probly would be a better choice.

Hoplin is playing jv now, and only gets in varsity in blow outs now since Meyer is back.  I agree about Elias, but i dont know if Roerich is any better, and BJ's stats just don't seem to add up to be all-conference numbers.  But he is a good player

Hoplin had 28 points scored on him in a JV game against Jamestown.  He was guarding Andrew Lick who scored 17 points on him in the first quarter, and you are saying that he is the heart of Red River's varsity?

when i first saw him play that is what it looked like to me because there were very few plays that he wasn't involved in but since Meyer is back i can see how he would be set back from being picked but all im saying is he had big plays and was involved in a lot as well.

I can see where you are coming from, but i still think Hoplin will have better chances next year.

Okay, here is the scenario, a kid has better stats than alot of other kids, but doesnt have as good as record as other kids, would you pick the kid with the better stats or the kid who has worse stats but is on a better team?

The kid with the better stats.  I mean this is all-conference, not Mr. Basketball.

All conference would go to the kids with the best stats but still would go to the ones that when watched you know right away even though they might not score 20 points a game or drop 8 or 9 dimes a game, the ones that know the game of basketball and are smart athletic players that get the job done would and should get the award... Mr. Basketball would probably go to the best overall basketball player... the smartest and the one that can play both offense and defense (not always being the top scorer or having the most rebounds) while still showing the state and being the best basketball player out on the floor...

EDC all conference:    Mertens, Hunt, Lundon, Sandvig, Savageau, Landry Larter, Mock, Erdmann, Kramer-- 1st 10 for sure-  next 6:  Schultz (11pts, big shots, 5reb), Glass (12 pts 1.45 Assit/Turnover ratio), Dehne (10pts 1.46 A/T 5 reb), Sayl (105 assit to 44 TO, 3 reb-ran the team) Disrud (13pts,5reb), Heck (12pts, 5.7reb,55%FG)

VC and Shanley --coaches usually pick at least one from each team--if they do that then put on Bergeson and Nelson instead of Disrud and Schultz.

Most important # is Assist to Turnover ratio--top 3 teams were DL (1.85), South (1.49) and North (1.23) --took 1st, 2nd and 4th--    worst teams were Shanley (0.74), Jamestown (0.65) and Valley (0.53)--  shows why they were last teams.  Hund and Sayl had great ratio's

What were Mertens and Erdmann's assist to turnover ratios?  And who had the most assists?

I agree that Heck should have been on the All-EDC team.  He was the key player for the Jays, and was the only person who looked consistant this season on their varsity squad.  If their coach would have had him playing varsity all year he would have been a unanimous pick.
