#4 (E)= Fargo South   over #1 (W)= Bismarck

FINAL FOUR

as you can see i didnt pick any team from the west to get past the first round

obviously someones bias against the west.  i would be willing to bet quite a bit of money that it is not going to be an all east semifinals.

I would probably pick Dickinson to make state and the ship but they lost 2 of their starters for the season.(This im not making up)

#3 (W) Bismarck Century vs. #2 (E) Fargo South-- South wins

#1 (W) Bismarck High vs. #4 (E) Grand Forks Red River-- Red River wins it

 

#3 (E) Fargo North vs. #1 (E) Devils Lake-- Firebirds come out the the win

#4 (E) Grand Forks Red River vs. #2 (E) Fargo South-- South wins in a nailbiter

 

#2 (E) Fargo South vs. #1 (E) Devils Lake-- Firebirds win by 9, and Travis Mertens wins Mr. Basketball

Those are just my predictions, but i could off just a little bit.  I predict Devils Lake to win it all.

yeah d-lake is the best team in the state.  That makes no sense, yup the east is stronger even though the west won more games at the classic.

well minot might not have been there but the west is pretty even.  i havent seen one team that is a whole lot better than all the others.  Beulah is probably the best team in the west.  minot has trouble near tournament time and during tournament time in all sports. i just dont know what the deal is.

Yeah 4 years ago when Minot failed to make state for the 17th time in a row, it seems like they've been struggling  in the WDA tourney ever since.

6 of the 8 games that the west won in the east/west classic were against jamestown and valley city. If you take the games valley city, st.marys, and jamestown played out of the classic, then the east wins 6 games to 2. Just a little insight, west cant necessarily be proud of winning it just because they beat valley and jamestown a bunch of times.

So?  You also have to put in that Dickinson beat South and Bhs beat North.  And Im sure if Central, Red River, and SHanley were in it they wouldnt of done as well either.  I doubt any of those 3 would of won every game or maybe even 2.

I cannot see at all how you think that either Bismarck High or Minot will win it all this year.  Did you not see or hear about the Fargo South and Devils Lake game.  I would have to say that is a preview of the EDC and State championship games.

[font=Comic Sans MS]To me unlike any year that ive seen i think almost all of the teams in the state are more equal then ive ever seen them, In the east we all think Devils Lake is a great team, and they are but if you think about it West Fargo has beaten Whapeton who has beaten North who has beaten South who has beaten Devils Lake. West Fargo had a strong Showing in the East/ West holiday classic beating Williston and Bismark, I'm not sure who else they played that weekend but to me this is going to be one of the more exciting State tournaments that i have seen in a very long time. I don't think he was trying to say Whapeton beat them. He was saying
West Fargo beat Whapeton
Whapeton beat North
North has beat South
South has beat DL

His thinking is because West Fargo beat Whapeton and they beat a team that beat a team that beat DL that they can beat DL. But the thing is WF hasnt beat DL. Its a poor comparison really.

I was actually trying to say that any team has a chance, but to me this years west fargo team is just very solid, i have watched a few games and if they can hit the three pointers like they have some times this year they can beat anybody, and they do hit those alot. Also the second time thety played DL it was a very close game. I just like the way these guys seem to hustle and they dont have attitudes they play TEAM ball and that is how i grew up to play so i think they have a real good chance who win it all.

 Yea I think the top teams in the EDC are all capable of winning.  Devils Lake is the probably the best, but they could be knocked off again by a hot shooting team.  The class A schools get very familiar playing each other over the years and usually play very competative at tournament time.
