St. Mary's showed Shanley how soft the WDA schedule is.
Agreed with scoobyx2. How is the WDA down?
Century's lone in state loss is to Saint Mary's, who is loaded offensively, and blew Shanley out.
Saint Mary's lone loss is to Bismarck.
Bismarck lone in state loss is to Minot, and they blew Saint Mary's out.
Minot's lone in state loss is to Red River, who is undefeated.
Shanley's lone loss is to Saint Mary's.
There have been no other significant cross matches.
Outside of Red River, West Fargo, and Wahpeton, I have not been overly impressed with any of the EDC teams defensively, at this point in the season, and again, I have watched every Class A team in North Dakota play at least once. It will be interesting to see what happens when the tournaments begin to take place. The EDC teams, in general, have a lot of individual star power, with teams usually having 1 or 2 guys averaging between 16-26 points, while the WDA is, for the most part, a completely different style of basketball predicated on defense. Obviously, Saint Mary's plays a bit like an EDC team and West Fargo plays a bit like a WDA team, but in general, this holds true. This may truly be a year where we see whether having one or two studs, like a Fargo Davies or a Fargo Shanley, will beat a team with seven or eight really solid guys, like a Bismarck, Minot, or a Century.
