BISMARCK – Bismarck High School’s Dexter Werner, who has committed to play at North Dakota State, has been named the Gatorade North Dakota boys basketball player of the year.
Werner, a 6-foot-5, 210-pound forward, averaged 20.2 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists, leading the 21-4 Demons to the Class A state tournament.
Werner has also maintained a 4.0 grade point average and is ranked first in his class of 371 students.
