75% of those are getting the minimum scholarship, and will end up being JVers.

I think a couple of those guys, like Roland and Roemmich are going to run track and aren't as serious in basketball. Not sure though.

Mertens is also thinking about UND. I believe he's waiting to see whats up with the Rich Glas situation and to see if the offer would be different with a different coach at UND.

I heard from a Sioux Men's basketball player that Glas is out for sure, he just hasn't made it official yet.

Signing Day

NAIA schools have no specific deadline to sign athletes.  NCAA rules are more complicated and there is a signing date but it is an earliest possible date not a latest possible date.

I think if he went juco for two years he would be able to play at even better four year schools. He has a lot of tools, but needs to get better in certain areas and play against better players.  There have been lots of players who have played JUCO in the local area and went on to play at major schools in major conferences and Mertens could have just as good of a career.

What "local area" are you talking about?

Both NDSCS & Williston State have taken players in the last two years and sent players to the D1 level. I think NDSCS sent 3 D1 last year & 3 this year and Williston sent 3 this year. That's not counting all the players who have went D2. I know Travis has atleast visited one of these schools twice.

I hope he decides to stay home and go to Lake Region. If we got Alex and Travis

together at LR it would be huge for attendence.
