State tournament

Postby braves84 » Sun Feb 11, 2018 4:14 pm

Are all the games gonna be at the fargodome or the shac. I haven't heard how it's going to be, should be a wide open and fun tournament.

Why in the world are the state championship games held in a building that holds less than 5,000 people. I think that's a joke. The wda championship chip round for boys and girls will easily out draw them . With the right match ups they get 7,000-8,000 if Fargo can't do better just have it in bismarck or Minot, just my 2 cents.

No one likes the Dome even though it seats more. The SHAC is an actual basketball facility...

My opinion is that there will be a much better atmosphere is the SHAC then anything the Dome could provide. Just think more people will be in the SHAC for State Championship night then the Bison could pack in during a 2 game homestand ;)

Trust me, I get what your saying about the 2 facilities but I still think it's a joke that high school athletics association thinks that a 4,88 seat arena is good enough for the state tournament no matter how new is good enough not cool. If that's this plan going forward also I say just rotate it between Minot and Bismarck 2 basketball arena, I know it won't happen cause they think Fargo should be in the mix, sorry for the rant. Just my 2 cents.

The facilities ESPECIALLY at the SHAC were fabulous!! At no time even during the championship games, were people without a seat. Plenty of seating and plenty of atmosphere conducive to the awesomeness of the basketball games!! I totally disagree with only holding it in the WEST-- been there too.

In regards to the DOME, the games were disappointing primarily due to the floor being too hard and slippery. Shots were off for many of the athletes so their talents (especially the outside shooters) were not on full display.

The concern expressed on here with space in the SHAC turned out to be a non-concern. There were a LOT of empty seats shown on TV.

Flip, I went to the wda championship round they easily outdrew the state a games. Which brings up a different issue. I watched on t.v. And saw alot of empty seats. I am not trying to be a hater, but if Fargo would have a better building and support it better I would have no problem at all of splitting it back and forth, but to not even sell out a small building like that is sad.
