The BHS pitcher was outstanding that night, and Century has the fire power to hit the ball. They have been starting slow, but their season also started late. It will be an advantage for the West teams to be underestimated.

I really dont think that Century has the firepower to keep up with WF. They definately do not have the pitching to hold WF back, I dont think they have the pitching to hold any of the top east teams down. They may be able to hit out west but the better pitching in general is in the east, mainly with WF.

North's main pitcher wasn't even at the game for the North and Shanley and if they would have had her, they would have defanitly have blown them. That sophomore that pitched for North did a decent job with the circumstances that were presented. Shanley couldn't bat the first 5 innings and once they did, then they started hitting the gaps. North stuck with them and it shows that even a young team can show potential.

yes north has a young team, but their number one pitcher isnt much better. Also shanley has a young team, looking at their roster they have one senior, start a couple JRs and then the rest are underclassmen. I think they even start a seventh grader. I just dont see north doing a lot of damage this year in the state. I really think it is WF's title to lose again this year, because I don't think anyone matches up against them.

The one thing that might hinder West Fargo from winning is if they get down right away early in the game, they don't really recover and shake it off. A perfect example is the championship game at state last year. If anyone else was at that game and recall, Red River in the first 4 innings totally handed it to West Fargo and West Fargo didn't get their groove back until they had a girl come off the bench and hit. Then they rallied off of that to get another state title. Softball is a mental game and thats the only way that any team can come close to beating them.

at the state title game last year red river couldnt really score off of wf. WF just hit everything right at them. I agree though that if you are going to beat wf you have to get an early lead and play a solid defensive game or they will run all over you.

WELL I WAS CLOSE...West Fargo 11 Fargo Shanley 1 FINAL

Shanley trailed 4-1 after 5 but WF piled it on late.

It was 4-1 going into the 7th too. WF played good defense and pitched well. Shanley could have held wf to less without making some costly errors. Dropped some easy fly balls. It should have probably been a 2-1 game going into the 7th. Who knows what would have happened then. Shanleys tall pitcher threw well until making some mistakes in the 7th. It should be a good rematch in WF later, hopefully with better weather.

As far as I know the top 3 seem to be:

1. West Fargo (undefeated)
2. Fargo Shanley (1 loss - WF; they play again on the 24th @ WF)
3. Minot or Century (its still hard to tell from out west)

Century's only loss is to BHS, otherwise they have swept all their games. All of the west teams seem to be moving their lineups around to prepare for post season. The weather has been tough.

3. Century

The West tournament could be close!

Looks like Shanley and West Fargo play on Tuesday. Both have been run ruling the other Fargo teams...

I am leaning towards Century and Dickinson also to go from Region 3. Who would you pick as #3 and #4 from Region 1?

it looks like #3 will be Valley City and #4 will be Fargo North from Region 1
