From what I heard (and this was left out of the article)...the opponent they were facing was also highly ranked

It must be some kind of promoting site to help players get recognized because you would think the opposing team is equally impressive to hold off a pitcher like that to 16 innings, or maybe even had an equally talented pitcher who got tired one hitter too soon.
