There is going to be a battle in the WDA for 3rd and 4th to go to State, Minot split w/ Bismarck, but Minot had the bats going in the first game and BHS struggled on defense. An 8th grader came up w/ a win for BHS for the 2nd game while Minot's reserves didn't really swing the bat. Century has a lot of depth, and will make a run for the title. I think they play WF next weekend along with BHS.

Mr. Sparta wrote:As earlier scores may have shown, Fargo south didnt do so hot in there first game against the animals of west fargo. i feel that they have great talent on the team such as Kaitlyn Krabbenhoft and Madison Navarro. Krabbenhoft, scott krabbenhofts cousin, was out of the games with a sore shoulder. but look to her to come back as the ace for this young and talented team. With leadership from the captains, i believe with all my heart that these girls can make a run to the title game.

I don't think Fargo South has enough to make a run to the title game. They just got blown out tonight by Fargo Davies 21-0!!

after seeing the games this weekend... my top 3 would now be. 1) WF 2) Bismarck Century 3) Shanley

Shanley lost to century 1-0 in the bottom of the 7th. was an exciting game to watch even though i only saw half as i was wandering around to all games. Both teams had chances to score throughout the game. West Fargo is clearly number 1.

I agree with you on the top 3 for now, but I think Ryan would give Shanley a good test. Century was missing a few key players due to a prom so they made a point to test out different players at different positions in both their games. Not familiar w/ WF to know if that was their full squad. In the Shanley-Century game, if there would have been regulation fences up, Century wouldn't have had to go to the bottom of the 7th to win.

agreed, but it also looked like shanley was missing their normal catcher and top hitter. she was sitting on the bench our of uniform. Injured maybe. Looks like they play west fargo on tuesday.

Dickinson is a pretty good team and North beat them 2-1. North didn't seem good before the season that they could compete with top teams, but after this weekend they look like one.

Dickinson was missing their top pitcher. But I was not impressed by dickinsons hitting. I expected them to be a better hitting team. I think i would have them around 5 or 6 in the state.

Most of the West teams really moved their rosters and lineups around to give their players playing time so I think the teams will have a different look as the season moves along. Was WF at full strength during last weekend's crossover or were they missing players too?

I am not sure about WF, but i know the only starter Century was missing was their SS. She wont make much a a difference in matchups like that.

i was at the wf vs shanley game tonight in wf. each team had like 7-8 hits... shanley made 8 errors and lost 7-0. if they woulda cut those out probably would have been 3 or 4 to zero, shanley had a couple good chances. Cant make those mistakes against wf though. Shanleys hitting looked good though.

Shanley's hitting looked good but they were shutout?

considering when i watched bismarck century play wf and the same pitcher, they only had 3 hits... and pretty much every other game that pitcher has thrown look to be no hitters... i would say they hit decent to match wf in hits with 8. they just didnt get a timely hit to push across any runs. like i said if they cut out the errors it would have been 3, maybe 4-0. if shanley could have gotten a timely hit they coulda scored 1 or 2 runs. Just saying the way the game went, it could have been a lot closer than the score shows.

This season is going to be determined by the teams who create the least errors and who can score. With the pitching mound moved to 43', power pitchers are not going to be as big of a factor, as we are already seeing. Baserunning will be a bigger deal since the catcher won't get the ball as quickly as last year, and you will see more errors because the ball will be put in play more.

So i remember someone saying on here that Fargo south could make a run at the title??? I don't think they have won a game all season. I still think it is WF's title to lose for a few years to come still. Right now i think they are unbeatable by ND teams unless they play a perfect game on both sides of the ball.
