OK dude... Many Ribs finished 7 and 11 seconds behind either of the Grinnells at Becki Wells, and I'm not sure about the Mandan Kiwanis meet but I know he was close today.

Don't write anybody off, especially in September.

I don't think Roesler is as good as she will be yet. I also would not doubt that she is pacing herself for later on in the season.

have you ever ran XC in your life. She is not pacing herself she just isnt as good this year. She trained for the 800 all summer and trained for the 100 200 and 400 all spring. She is not an XC runner point blank period. She used to be but she doesnt focus on it enough in the offseason like Mears and Wahlund do. Roesler is a sprinter and a darn good one but i think her days as a distance runner are over.

Obviously no. Facts, I can't deny. However, I am confident in her abilities, but Mears is very good, young, and improving. I guess I will see what happens as time unfolds.

Roesler is not in good enough shape to beat Mears this year! She is not capable of running a sub-15 minute 4k now and I don't think that she will be near that at the end of this season!! I know that Laura Roesler is a very talented runner; but I think that her body is still used to running the open 800s (at a 2:03 pace non-the-less) and not ready to tackle the challenge of running longer distances!!

If seelig from lisbon runs a good race at state he could be up there too.
Anyone can run 100 meters, its the next 4900 that count

Don't count Wahlund out.....she will be right up there with Mears or vice versa. Why didn't Roesler finish the race last week? Is she injured or sick?

She was having problems with her breathing after the 1st mile and according to her, her legs just didn't want to go...so she dropped out! She started the race with her teammate, Lachowitzer; but started to falter at the 1000 meter mark; she and Lachowitzer were already quite a distance behind Mears at that point in the race!!

Everyone is entitled to a bad race once in a while, if you have never had one, you have never ran.
She will get it back. No matter what happens she has had a great year all told. Learn a lesson, never count Roesler out, she has too much talent

Trust me...I know what you mean...but if you've been at her meets you would know what I'm talking about...it just doesn't seem to be there for her right now...I know how much talent she has...and from the things that I have heard, her coach is overworking her to the point that it almost doesn't look like all the effort is there; yet she still is in the front of all of the races (minus the Andrew Nelson Metro Classic) and race's end!!
