Is Rugby missing a runner in boys for some reason?

Any idea if tomorrow's meet in Cooperstown is going to still happen? I know they are supposed to get decent snow today, just wondering for the meet lists.

With the amount of snow piling up in that part of the State, I cannot imagine it is going to happen but have not heard officially.

With the weather we've been having lately there could be alot of "Rusty" runners during Regional meets.

WDA meet moved from Jamestown to Bismarck (McDowell Dam) on Saturday.

I have to say that I wish the State Meet wasn't in Jamestown. While I think the course itself is okay, it isn't very friendly from a spectator standpoint.

That's a very politically correct way to say it.

Not coaching friendly either...not allowed back to Mile 1 and Mile 2 is in the trees

The ONLY good thing about that course is the fact that it is centrally located in the state.

And it isn’t a golf course so you don’t have to wait 2 hours for the frost to lift!

Last year was so poorly handled by all involved...they knew it was going to be frosty...so why not delay things early. So yes, one pro...not a golf course; several cons. I'd rather go further west like Bismarck for State...that's centrally located IMO

Thoughts on Class A Conference Meets:

Very impressive run from Grand Forks Red River Boys at EDC. 6 in the top 12 and 4 in the top 7. Fargo Davies Girls Team expectedly dominated, with 7 in the top 13 and 10 in the top 20. Times were slow across the board. How bad was the course?

WDA Boys: Williston brought their A squad and cleaned up, but more impressive was two sub-16 clocking on a cold, blustery day. Williston should be the favorite for state, but Legacy wasn't too far behind.
WDA Girls: Meghan Ford wins by 45 seconds and almost goes sub-18 on a cold, blustery day, while Minot almost takes Century for the team title.

Course was very muddy by the time the boys hit the course. Considering there was 5 inches of snow on the ground a few days ago...I was impressed with the conditions but times were going to be slow.

Worth noting...Davies’ 6-10 runners would have gotten 2nd in the meet!

Last report I saw for Jamestown was 48 and windy...but no rain:

Forecast will change though as week progresses

Lots of these kids have been running through temperatures in the 30s, snow, and wind for a couple of weeks. All of the region and conference meets were colder than the predicted temp for state. I think the weather looks pretty good, tbh

New Town is the Class B Boys Favorite until they have less than 5 runners on the team!
