Last year it was Cody Ward(BHS center back) from the West and Cam Hager(Shanley mid/fw) from the East. Hager deservedly winning the outright honor for the statewide selection. Who will it be this year?

My picks are (West Region)Austin Mack-center back for CHS...(East Region)Jacob Weiler-center mid for South.

Agree? Disagree?

Austin Mack and Jacob Weiler are both worthy picks for Mr soccer... Mack brings stability and pace to the back line of CHS and along with fellow cb MacArthur they create a dynamic duo! Jacob Weiler is a soccer junkie and is always looking for ways to get better..He has a great love for the game and he shows it! His touch is top class and his size and distribution skills cause problems for other teams...
I also think Brady Rotert from West Fargo is a worthy Mr. Soccer pick as he , Cernik, and Dreher bring a potent attack to the table.... PK Annan could also enter the conversation But as rumors have been swirling it appears he IS NOT GOING TO PLAY THIS FALL for unknown reasons.....

PAC ATTACK!!!!

Great to get a response so soon.. Weiler has to win the the overall state selection for senior athlete. The guy is just incredible...just does it all, he is like Zidane. He was Gatorade player of the year last season so he is just in another realm/dimension. Anyone know if he is going D1 somewhere???

How about Alec Rauhauser of CHS? Mack is a defender but Rauhauser is their most offensive player....10 goals last year. He is awesome at hockey but he's a top notch soccer player as well. His big frame, soft feet, and creative instincts are hugely important to CHS. Without him, Jamestown has a chance!!

Peace out,
BJ

Thats a bold move missile to compare weiler to the best center midfielder of all time. Weiler is not even close to the same player as zidane and I dont see him going anywhere outside of north or south dakota due to his lack of pace in the game because the college game comes down to being able to do those things that he is doing more crisp and much much faster. Senior athlete though has got to be mack because he is a pretty good player and most importantly he is an extremely hard worker. MIssile you have said alot of things spot on but the zidane thing was not even close, sorry

How is Ben "Stonewall" Glogoza not in the talk in this post. The kid is unreal on and off the field. He has been an anchor on the deacons succesful season last year and then again this year. I know he is a goalie and they dont get much praise but the kid has huge talent just like his huge self. ;)

Fly, you Glogoza's dad, relative, or bff? Between your post here and on the Class A boys basketball page it would appear that you have a real like for him.

I think that Fly has a point with Glogoza. Just look at his stats as well has W-L-T's. I do not know of one team that would not want him in the net. He makes great saves has good agility in spite of his size. As a goalie he distributes the ball and makes great soccer decisions. He is a gamer every game. If you are a forward you are dreading the fact that you’ll have to place one behind Ben. That a matter of fact no matter if you are related or BFF. As far as Weiler he is definitely one of the best Senior players in the State and this year he showing off some of his skills. He has a nice soft touch to the ball and can really crack one if he needs to make a shot. Problem is that he has a low percentage on target and is slow to get the shot off. I always expect more from him in the game but this just does not materialize, he is not a game changer. If I was the opposing coach I would have more planned strategy around what to do with Isaac than Jacob. I would also watch out for Joshua the younger Weiler as he looks to be more creative. But with that all said the Senior from the East should be Brady Rotert from WF. He could play any position. He is athletic and can control the ball on his feet. He has a great turn and sees the field really well. Just ask Zuheer or Lucas Miller as they are benefactors of his talented play. He may not be as fast as some but he is quick with decisions and executes well. So far my vote for the EDC player would go to Rotert although one could argue it should be Ben. If I were picking teams he would be considered my first choice (Always start with a Goalie). Nice to see such good talent out there I believe it keeps getting better each year. Keep it up boys.

Glogoza is by far the best Keeper in the east. but if you want the best in the state, look to Kessler. He is a four year starter and by far the most solid Keeper ND has seen in a long time, Although my overall vote for senior athlete is Jeff Gendrou (sorry if misspelled). He is a great leader and a great kid on and off the field. great ballhandling and distribution. thats my opinion

Kessler is not the best in the state....not even close sir... the kid plays 3 months out of the year ( how dedicated is that??? ) bucholz and glogoza are both better that him and as far as Gendreua goes he is a good leader but DOESN'T have great ball handling skills in my book....Brad Kelly is far better in that catagory.

Thats how it goes when your a three sport athlete. He has played winter indoor the last about six years i think. and played summer traveling up until the last couple summers. Bucholz is one of those keepers that makes dramatic saves when not needed and makes himself look good. I do agree tha brad is a very skilled player

After the south/shanley game tonight the choice should be Glogoza without a question.

Not sure what everyone sees in Weiler. He was a non factor in the game and missed his
shot in the shootout as well. South did not seem to be on the same page team wise and had
difficulty generating any offense.
