Not good scores??? Two 79's and some 80's! Chase Harstad from Garrison/Max also shot 80. There was a fairly good wind, courses are not in very good shape this time of year and for alot of the kids it was the first time playing this course.

Sheesh.... give 'em break! Northern Lights shot in the 320's, from what I've seen for team scores this year, this would win alot, if not all of the tourneys played so far.

Ok...and class A are playing harder and are shootind 304s....and any higher than 78 and your not even in the top ten.....and since when is 80 a really good score because I feel like i shot 100 when i shoot 80 as do most of the kids i play with in class A.

knight55, sounds like you should be on the tour. And besides, the topic here is class b scores, but if you insist I'll give the top ten scores from the Minot Inv. (class a)
71,76,77,78,78,78,79, 80, 80, 80. Looks like if you shot 80 you made the top ten. And I also seen where the Balzer kid from BHS shot something like 154 at Dickinson and tied for medalist. That's two rounds of 77. So your' telling me if you don't break 78 you're not even in the top ten. Hum, must be a bunch of misprints in the local papers.

I'll take 79's and 80's everyday from the players on my team.

Look at some college scores from the DAC 10. The guys winning the tournaments are shooting between 72-75. An that's college players.

scores could also depend on the difficulty of the course. by puttin class a and b on the same course then you'll know how they compare. same with college. you can't really say who's better until they've competed with eachother on the same course, same day, same rules, same everything

Champs, I agee 100%. Weather and course conditions, pin placements, speed of the greens, ect... all factor in the final scores. Just because scores are high does'nt mean the kids are'nt playing well.

Take for instance the U.S. Open. I doubt very much that Tiger is upset, or feels like he shot 100, if wins this tourney at, or above par. I think Angel Cabrera won last year at +1. Scores are usually high because they make the course practically unplayable, but it is the same for everybody.

Keep up the good work boys, and congrats to all the medalist's so far this season.

You really can't compare the class B scores to the class A scores unless they play the same course on the same day, it's as simple as that. It is true, though, that class A team scores will undoubtedly be lower...the combination of larger enrollments, quite possibly nicer courses to play on, and overall more resources will allow the Class A team scores to be lower. But you can't say that the top individual golfers in Class A are better than the top individuals in Class B year in and year out...there will be years when Class A does have higher quality players, but there also will be years that Class B has higher quality players.

You also have to take into account which side of the state the scores are coming from...the east is bogged down with snow, and the courses are wet, which could mean receptive greens and good scoring conditions, but the temperature are also much cooler which could make it tougher. Out west, it is warmer which will make it easier to play well, but the drought like conditions are making the course firm and fast, which is difficult to score on if the wind is up at all. It all depends on the day and who has a good round.

I think one way to compare the Class A golfers to the Class B golfers is to have an all-star game just like in basketball and football....I've always thought it would be cool to select the top 12 golfers from Class A and the top 12 golfers from Class B and have a Ryder Cup style match in the summer after the state tournmanents.

Obviously your from a class b school that would be a joke of a tournament....drean big. The B champion from last year played in the Big I state tourney in Bismarck and he shot in the 80's both days and Pat Thomas who took 7th in class A and shoot 73 and 75 and took second...and class b has what?

We should have that tournament class b would get worked...you play from the whites and state is at the creek anything over par isnt deserving or winning state

This topic is for Class B meet results. If you guys want to argue who is better between Class A and B go start another topic. Lets keep all the extra chatter out of this one so people don't have to scroll through a big argument just to find some results.
