STATE B 2008

The player was not drinking but was in the wrong place at the right time. Regardless what she did was against the rules and to bad for the rest of the girls. I agree that Beulah is ahead of where they were last year, and my comment had nothing to do at yelling at girls and holding them accountable. This team was good from 7th and 8th grade on. He still has belittled many girls from the 1st day of practice until now.

What has he done? Called the girls on their mistakes? Gotten on them for missing their reads in the back row? Asked them to give their all for the team? Thats what a good coach does.

your right thats what a good coach does. Too bad he isn't reading what you are writing and try it out for himself.

Are you speaking from 1st hand knowledge? Or listening to team members that are upset about playing time, change of positions, etc.?

I'll concede your point. By the way, how did he end up in Beulah? Is he a teacher? Family?

All I know that the A.D. wanted coaches in the school system and hand picked him out. There was someone in the school system that wanted to coach volleyball and has a coaching degree in volleyball but for some reason doesn't like them. While in college was an assistant a couple years on one of the fargo teams that won state at least once. I think he is a 5th grade teacher and has a wife and couple young kids.

I knew Lou Hansana didn't really want to leave Beulah's coaching ranks, so your post clears that up. I can understand why an AD would want someone in-house to coach, but not hiring someone already in the system seems pretty silly. I still believe that Beulah is ahead of where they are last year, but I agree that the girls do deserve respect from their coach. I just hadn't seen coach Peterson do anything disrespectful, other than yell. I wish Beulah the best of luck at the Regional tournament. Hopefully they will "peak" during the touranment.

Definitely not H-N.
Hillsboro beat them and they're going to state.

I do think thats a definite thing... Hillsboro only beat them 3-2...

Yes, Hillsboro did sneak by with a win against H-N, but Hillsboro still proved to be the better team in that game, and they will go on to state...

Hatton-Northwood also had a death of a teacher that taught in their school the day of the Hillsboro game. They'll be tough competition in districts this upcoming week...

Region 3:
Championship game on Thursday...
Steele vs. LMM
If Steele plays the way they did tonight, and if LMM plays the way they did tonight, it should be an easy sweep for LMM.

However, I hope both teams are on their game. Championships should be exciting.

Hazen takes on Dickinson Trinity for the championship in Region 7. Who's going to win?

That's true. It won't matter who from region 3 makes it to state, they still cannot compete with most the other teams advancing to state. However, I don't think LMM or anyone from their district will take the region.

Did i read this right??????

They match up with defending state champ and unbeaten Kenmare, which has lost only 2 games all year. (my old home town!)

Kevin Peterson was awarded the Coach of the Year award from Region 7. I guess I'm not the only one that thought he was a good coach.
