Sammi S. from FCT is good. She was District player of the year. Killoran (sp?) from Maple Valley is tough she can jump out of the gym. Lisbon has a middle Munkeby. She is only a junior, but hits the ball as hard as anyone I watched all season. Just 3 that jump out at me.

I have to say that the overall talent this is year, is down compared to last year. There were about a dozen legit college athletes in last year's class---this year, I've watched alot of volleyball and really none of them compare to the Kateylnn Steffen's and Abby Bratlien's. Some good ball players, just not the caliber that there was a year ago.

I would take off Paulson and put on Brenner for shanley and remove Larson and put of the other girl from North...cant think of her name RJ i think...maybe #4 from VC..they finished higher that North so they may get someone before them

That’s the trouble with all conference teams. Brenner is the unsung hero for Shanley. She is as deserving as many on these lists. What do you do? I imagine this is the case with many teams.

EDC Championship game today. Who will win it? West Fargo or South?

How about Senior Athlete of the Year Award-Who takes it?

And does anyone know of anybody playing in college?

Molly Brenner is a very well deserving player to be on the All-Conference team. To come back from shoulder surgery and is able to still be an amazing volleyball player. She SHOULD be on it.

It is a crying shame that Katie Jorrisen from VC did not make the team. One more reason for the Hi-Liners to pull out of the EDC.

Was she #4...if she was then I would agree that she should have been on there...Pull out of the EDC. How do you propose that? They go independent and never have a chance at a State Tournament?

Jorrisen was #4 for VC. Thanks for backing her up.

VC is considering leaving the EDC, playing an independant schedule, and taking the automatic bottom seed in the EDC tournament for basketball and volleyball. Makes sense. The state needs to wake up and see that a) we need a new class, or b) we need a separate conference of A teams, like the old North Star.

The only reason VC has stayed in the EDC is to keep athletes eligible for all-conference awards. It's pretty clear those are out the window with Jorrisen being snubbed.
It is a crying shame that Katie Jorrisen from VC did not make the team.

I noticed her also. She is very good. Her stats: 197 kills - 16th in the EDC, 10% kill % - this stat probably hurt her, 7 blocks - 36th in the EDC, 245 digs - 17th in the EDC, sets?? not in the top 50 in EDC, 32 aces - 27th in the EDC. There were 15 named all conference. You can be a good player and not be named all conference. Nothing to be ashamed of. Congratulations to Katie for a great year.

One more reason for the Hi-Liners to pull out of the EDC.
Sounds like you want to take your ball and go home. Which schools would make up this third conference. Might happen. Even if it did though, there would still be a big school and a small school in the conference.

Those stats say it all. Its kinda hard to be a top 15 player when you are not in the top 15 in any main statistical category. I personally think if VC left the EDC left would be screwing themselves. Most of the teams in the EDC wouldnt care anyway because it's one less road trip for them to take and they can play a more competitive team on that date from Minnesota like a Moorhead, East Grand Forks, or Breckenridge. Who does VC play on playing to fill their schedule? Jamestown, maybe some Fargo teams, and a bunch of area Class B schools

By no means was Brenner not making the all edc team an upset. She was ranked in the upper teens to mid twenties in all her stats, which is nothing special as far as rankings go. Blake Selisker from Wf, Natalie Brehmer from FS, and Alicia Greening from DL all ranked ahead of her in kills, digs, and aces, and none of them made all edc. To me, those were the girls that got shafted. And th fact that you think she should ahve made it over paulson is ludicrous. She swung aggrresively unlike brenner who mostly tipped. Paulson led the edc in blocks and was pretty high up there in kills too..I think the way she stepped in this year as a 2nd year vball player and played big was way more amazing then brenner overcoming al shoulder injury.. ( a lot of players overcome injuries)
