Run or anyone that follows Class B closely, if you had to seed it 1-8 how would you do it?

Langdon/Thompson were interchangeable for me...but it went how I thought it would.

Been more difficult to follow volleyball this year with crowd restrictions, no tournaments etc but here is my take on the state tournament.

Linton HMB the favorite and my pick to win it.
I agree with Run that Langdon and Thompson were interchangeable. They split on the year with each winning at home. I am going to them both to win in the first round with Langdon advancing to play Linton HMB in the championship, Thompson to beat Northern Cass in the 3rd place game.
Trinity to bounce back to take 5th after losing to NC in the opening round. They beat Flasher in the 5th place game.
Our Redeemer over Kenmare in the 7th place game.

Hughes - Senior of the year

what type of floor are they playing on? Is it just a large mat, or is it a temporary wooden floor?

I've watched parts of Linton's last 3 matches. I've been impressed. Is it just me or are they a very good serving team?

Yes they are a very good serving team and they cover the floor really well, seams like nothing touches the court

That seemed to be the case for NC last night too...severely frustrated Trinity with their ability to get a hand on everything

Linton-HMB finishes the year at 25-0; winning 75 sets while ONLY losing 3 all year!

Side Note: They return nearly everyone next year!

It’s evident the amount of time and sacrifice coach richter has given this team. She reaped those rewards tonight. It’s hard to find that many gritty competitors on one team but when you do. They reign champions. What a privilege that is to witness. They may be small but they are fierce. Expect the same next year.

what was the point of that? there were a few times I thought there were missed over the line fouls, but I can hardly blame the down official for not seeing it.

Safety; protection from hitting the pole.

This was the EDC championship. And I know you don't make these decisions, but if they're that worried about safety why didn't they spread the chairs in the bench area?

I have no idea...but guessing that they didn't use WF's equipment...I'm pretty certain that has been used in the setup over the recent years as well.

The base for securing the poles was literally as large as the padding, and maybe 10-12 inches high. I guess it's a system they need to use when they can't drop poles into the floor. If you look just under the scores your can see how wide and deep the base is, it was that wide and extended that far back from the pole.

If you've ever been to a JO tournament held in a convention center you'll remember it's common to see 55 gallon drums used to secure the poles. This was better, not necessarily ideal, but not that bad.

Linton/HMB's defense was a thing of beauty. They swarmed the floor. It was so hard for the other teams to find any open spots. It seemed like the best way to score against them was by blocking or hoping they have a hitting error. Very good team!

Scary thing is they return most of their team (2 seniors...1 that played). Loaded with Sophomores & Juniors!

Should be back next year to defend title.

2 Things...

1. We haven't found a time where a team went undefeated in history.

2. Not sure they would have been undefeated in a normal season with tournaments...a random 2-1 loss possibly could have occurred or if they had been going to Dickinson's tourney they may have faced a Class A squad. Still a great feat!

Century & Linton finished UNDEFEATED* for 2020!!

Langdon

Langdon did go undefeated in 2003. They were 45-0 and lost 7 sets that year as well.
