My Prediction:
1. Lamoure-LM (Will not bet against them again.)
2. Langdon/Edmore/Munich
3. Thompson
4. Our Reedemer's
5. Central Cass
6. Watford City
7. Dickinson
8. Bismarck

Don't know very much about Thompson and Watford City. Have heard through the grapevine that Bismarck is not good. A little surprised Central Cass didn't get a seed, and to make it worse they got a horrible draw. Think they would've had a good shot to knock out any of the other top seeds.

Central Cass will give Lamoure fits..They are good and as competitive as probably Lamoure. Thompson is good as well. Very similar back row and defensive play. The Lamoure/Central Cass game could be the best of the tournament. This should be one of the better State tourneys we have seen in quite some time. All 8 teams should represent pretty well. If Lamoure gets by CC, they should win the whole thing with their determination to not lose and having the best hitter and setter and defense in the state doesn't hurt.

I have the exact same prediction. I also was surprised Central Cass didn't get a seed, I personally think they should seed all 8, it really wouldn't be that hard to do.

For basketball and baseball too. They don't want to hurt someone's feelings. It will happen 3 years after Minnesota does it. ND has followed MN every step of the way when it comes to seeding a state tournament.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm disappointed that Oak Grove didn't get in.

Would have been great to see Fargo represented along with Dickinson, Bismarck, and Minot in the small-town tournament.

Man, could have been half the teams. What a system. Too bad we came up short.

The vote must have been close between Trinity and Central Cass for #5. Trinity's record was somewhat better, but I don't think they had as many wins over good teams as CC did. In addition to that, CC was one of the very few teams to take a set from LLM, and took LLM to extra points for the match at VC.

I think you could have picked 3-6 out of a hat. Pretty even between ORCS, Trinity, Thompson and CC imo. It was unfortunate for CC that they were the odd (wo)man out in the seeding and then turned around and drew Lamoure in the random draw. Definitely an argument for seeding all 8 teams. Should be something they look at in the future.

Heimer very good point on private schools. I wonder when class b is finally going to address this problem when these schools represent these regions in all sports in the state at least 60% of the time. The advantages they have is proven in there appearances in the state tournaments and yes there are other class b schools that can compete with them but what about the schools in there regions its not good for whole system if this continues.

Any chance we could move this discussion to another thread (any of other numerous threads where this discussion pops up) and just keep the conversation here focusing on the this year's tournament as is. I understand there are a number of people that question the system but airing your grievances here is not going to change this tournament and is only going to take away from any discussion that people may want to have.

I agree, but I am firmly convinced the the NDHSAA will never do anything to the private schools (for whatever reason) no matter how their member schools feel, vote, etc... Without a complete turnover at the NDHSAA offices and board, nothing will change.

Hey SCC, go to aytch.

The animal is not dead. As long as privates continue to dominate the small school tournament and district chairs vote 15-1 to examine 3 divisions, it's not dead.

Enjoy your A- crap.

Yeah, plug the top 4 teams from Region 3 in and you'd have a more competitive field for sure. Throw Langdon in with 3 Region 3 teams and you'd have a crazy semi final night!

by the looks of it it should be very competitive, but so far this first round has been lopsided.

I expected a bigger fight, I seen CC play this year and they were tough but they are playing against a team that refuses to lose. Maybe the Lamoure/Langdon championship game will be the best game of the weekend?

The only team I see beating LaMoure at this point is themselves.

Right, it won't change. Heimer's beating the dead horse until it's unrecognizable.

It's a dead horse as far as the head honchos at the NDHSAA and it's board are concerned, it is not a dead horse as far as a very large number of Class B AD's and coaches are concerned.

Shame on whoever decided/voted that the senior athlete of the year award be given to just Anna Holen and not both her and Jackie Mickeljohn.
