Minot........again

Minot........again

Postby heimer » Tue Sep 29, 2015 9:38 am

They obviously do not have ears in Valley City.

Minot was disaster last year, and will be again this year.

What a joke.

Let's hope we have a PA announcer that we can understand and more than hotdogs and pretzels to eat.

But probably not. Those expectations are too high.

Can they at least not play on courts that are in a line, but rather side by side? Nothing better than interrupting a state tournament match for a ball from another court.

Nah, that's thinking too big again.

Also disappointed that the Minot paper had no coverage of the DesLacs tournament. That's one of the biggest VB tournaments of the season.

it's been in Minot for quite awhile actually...you can get over it, I mean it's not like you're the one playing or getting interrupted. if the REAL athletes thought it were a REAL problem, they would do something about it

1. No, they wouldn't. It's rotated, there is no thought to quality of performance of the host.

2. Off to a rockin' start with those introductions and a nearly empty lower bowl.

This tournament absolutely needs to be in a smaller venue. Jamestown Civic, Grand Forks Betty the two that come to mind.

I've been to it a couple times in Jamestown and I really liked it, centrally located and with the addition of a few new motels in town I think they could host the tournament again. I would really like to see it out of Minot.

There is just no one here. At least half the seats in the lower bowl are empty. I get its not nighttime, but this is no atmosphere, the other issues notwithstanding.

Jamestown and Grand Forks would each be a better place.

But they have that new video board, I'm sure that justifies them keeping it (rolling eyes sarcastically). I really don't know why they don't put other towns on the table, you're not going to find too many people that would be sad if it left Minot.
