Seriously, we're gonna delete that? This board is soft.

Northstar got a gift with a 6-4 sophomore removed from Valley City because of issues that are frequently discussed on this board. Delete this, and you prove this board is awful.

I'm sorry what issues are you talking about?

So, you guys have the guts to delete a post that was legitimate, but won't own up to your crap.

Soft board.

Soft.

I dont know who deleted your post. I am the only other person on the board. Maybe give people a chance to actually come on the board. (More than 5 minutes) You can see who it on the board on the bottom of the page. Not everyone spends their friday night on the message board.

As discussed in several threads involving an approach to a three-class system, Valley City has a poor track record when it comes to commitment to winning and coaching in the district. The Kvilvang family chose to take their children to their mother's hometown of Cando to go to school.

Can't argue the move on their part. Seen enough crap thrown against the wall back home to understand why they did it.

That being said, North Star benefits from a 6'4" middle landing in their backyard. Should they win a title, it definitely is part of the story.

It's not a story of recruiting. Its a story of parents taking control and a school district squandering its opportunities to excel by way of not supporting its coaching, endorsing senioritis, etc.

Still waiting for the gutless, spineless admin that deleted my very benign comment to step forward and claim it.

Heimer, I agree. Without Macey the team more than likely isn't in the state tourny. It's a good thing that once in awhile a home grown kid comes back to their nest and brings the family with. Helps keep the small town community going.

I'm not sure what your point is here heimer and I did not delete your post. kvilvangs moved to cando 3 seasons ago now, it's not like the move was just made. How many other kids on the state tourney teams have moved in recently? I'm sure there are plenty more. If Northstar was playing for 7th today would you still be making a big deal about it?

I knew the Kool-Aid swappers on this board would misinterpret my point.

You would understand it if one of you spineless, gutless, NDHSAA-butt-kisser mods hadn't deleted my original post.

This is not an expose on recruiting.

This is not an expose on recruiting.

This is not an expose on recruiting.

This is not an expose on recruiting.

When the final story is told, it should include the fortune of North Star receiving the benefit of another school's destructive behavior.

That help? If not, there is none for you.

Full video of the 3 separate championship games:

Game 2

Game 3

Over the next day or two I'll put up the games from the 5-set matches against Our Redeemer's and Langdon in the Region 4 final. Those matches were way more intense than the championship game. I won't bother putting links here -- you should be able to find them by going to any of the other 3 games

a better story might be how the two ladies announcing during the games or during the awards section. Could they have been any more boring or better yet, how do you screw up the names of kids and their towns when announcing all state awards. these kids have been playing for three days or if they weren't playing this past weekend, they are the best players in the state, how can you not know each players respective school if you have been following vb all season and if you haven't been following it all season, are you the best person for the job? I just don't know how you can screw that up that badly. It was embarrassing to say the least. You could barely make out what they were saying through the entire tournament. Their choice of music was absolutely absurd. This is not the 70's or 80's, play the music these kids listen to everyday because its really about them. There is plenty of appropriate songs on the radio to make it a much more fun and exciting environment. It reminded me of the little old circle ladies at church that wont give up control to the younger, more fun and hip girls that would bring on a great atmosphere but nope, wallow in mediocrity...typical ND.

The GF Herald article indicated that the family moved to Cando almost 3 years ago. So hasn't Kvilvang been playing her entire high school career in Class B? It didn't seem like North Star "suddenly" got a 6'4" hitter, but it does seem like the player is questioning whether or not she should compete in Class A to possibly face stiffer competition.
