I was there...Northern Cass is really good. Other than one stretch to start the 2nd set (down 0-8 & 1-12) they were in complete control of the match.

Tonight was definitely not Oak Grove's "A" game but it was just one match...and not an entirely meaningful one.

next question: How much better is CC than OG and NC? or another question: if they played 10 times how many times is CC winning?

Hard to know for sure...I've only seen CC play a little bit. So I can't fully answer that question...just what I know on "paper".

Northern Cass has played Central Cass tough so far this season: (L 0-3: 14-25, 24-26, 21-25) & (L 1-2 @ Valley City Tourney: 22-25, 25-23, 14-16). Northern Cass has probably been Central Cass' toughest test this season (next toughest probably would be Thompson...only other team to take a set from CC).

Oak Grove hosts Central Cass on October 3rd...should be a good match and a good atmosphere.

CC has beat NC twice... 3-0 (regular season) and 2-1 (VC tourney). They are great matchups - long volleys and very entertaining volleyball. Both teams play excellent defense and are very scrappy. Where CC stands out is their hitters - obviously they have 6'3" Dooley who is a UND commit and unstoppable if she gets a good set. But where NC may have some weak spots, CC really doesn't. All their players are athletic and any one of their other hitters (Romsdal, Bresnahan, Grommesh and Cramer) can knock the ball down as well. It's a great rivalry this year as both teams are senior-dominated and are focused on the big picture.

CC and OG play each other for the first time next Thursday. From the stats I've seen, OG seems pretty focused on Hannah Kelley and they don't seem to get as much production from their other hitters. From what I've heard, they are a very scrappy team as well. The OG/CC rivalry is a good one too so it will definitely be an exciting matchup next week.

It is fortunate for the rest of the state that only one of these teams can advance to the state tournament. :D
