Does anyone have the breakdown on the region pairings for class B this year?

State Pairings look like this for Class B:

Region 5 vs. Region 8
Region 2 vs. Region 4

Region 3 vs. Region 6
Region 1 vs. Region 7

so right now from my observations the top teams from each region are:
Region 5 (New Salem-Almont, Grant County) vs. Region 8 (Stanley, Ray, Divide County, Watford City)
Region 2 (Hatton-Northwood, Central Valley, North Border, Cavalier) vs. Region 4 (Langdon, Midkota, Carrington, North Star, Rolla-Rock Lake)

Region 3 (LaMoure, South Border) vs. Region 6 (Kenmare, Minot Our Redeemer's)
Region 1 (Kindred, Central Cass, Northern Cass, Milnor, Oak Grove) vs. Region 7 (Heart River, Richardton-Taylor, Beach)

Interestin Fan Poll since CCHS beat Kindred in their 1st meeting in Valley City Tourney. I was not there and maybe it was just a fluke thing that they won and Kindred did look better for the long run?

Kindred and CCHS are in the same tournament this weekend so they may meet again. They are in different pools so the only way they meet is in the finals.

Interesting to note that CLASS B #5 Stanley played CLASS A #2 Fargo North pretty close last weekend (Dickinson tourney):

Fargo North def. Stanley, 26-28, 25-13, 26-24

And Stanley beat CLASS A # 5 Fargo Davies:

Stanley def. Fargo Davies, 25-17, 25-17

It appears as if the Class B powerhouses can compete pretty well with the Class A powerhouses this year.

I think we'll know more about the Kindred/Central Cass issue when they face each other with district implications...and not these tournaments. Things tend to be a little more different when its a regular season match (or post-season match) that goes 3 out of 5 games...and not these 2 or 3 game tourney matches. (Just my opinion though)

We will find out what kind of team North Star is in the coming weeks. Harvey-Wells County, Midkota, Langdon, Benson County, Rolla, and Carrington on the upcoming schedule. They have ran up their record beating the likes of TGU, Lakota, Minto, Adams-Edmore, Rolette-Wolford. Only one quality win this year against Bottineau.

Benson County has a nice team with the new co-op this year. Just learning to play together could be a sleeper.

Kindred is the real deal. Fast paced offense with a deep bench.

Completely agree with you. Tournaments can be very tiring and some teams handle playing tired better than others.

other than injuries when does a deep bench mean anything in Volleyball?

With a deep bench you can play players in the backrow that are suited better for back row and then when they rotate around to front row you put the player in that excels in the front row. Many small towns only play six girls but believe me that if the bench was deeper they would use it.

So with all the post's you all have replied with "Kindred is the real deal" "some teams play better in a 3 oiut of 5 setting" etc.... it appears even after the loss you feel Kindred is a much better team than CCHS? have not been to many of the games but I think the CCHS JV is pretty good as well so that would take away the "deep bench" thing?

Stanley is the best class B team I have seen (granted I have not seen all of them). They made the game against North close because Kelli Johnson did not play on Saturday at all. Groin strain is what I heard from the North parents. The games this week for North against RR and Wf were more important so they rested her. Probably a smart move.

I heard that Davies was missing two starters all weekend and had a bunch of kids hurt and sick on Saturday. Parents told me that the JV played against Stanley cause they play Shanley on Tuesday and wanted everyone healthy for that game.

They kindred coach appears to play the hot hand more than trying to develope a deep bench. If you are playing bad he pulls you and motivates by playing time or lack of? JMO? As for Stanley they have very good hitters and will be there in the end. Saw them play Kenmare earlier this year and they didn't appear to react well when the kills didn't go down. Scrappy teams that defend could frustrate Stanley but they will still be around in mid-November.

Brooke Hildre of Davis jammed her thumb pretty bad, may have stretched ligaments, she didn't play on Sat, and I think another girl had a concussion. There also was a Davies player that may have had food poisoning.

I hear all the talk about why Kindred and CCass are there, but why did Langdon get the first place vote, didn't they get beat by Kindred and Carrington this season?

#1 Langdon lost to Carrington earlier in the year. Carrington 17-2 (both losses to Midkota), including tonight's 3-2 loss (15-13) 5th set. Midkota is 18-1 (only loss to Carrington). #4 Central Cass lost to Midkota in V.C. tourney 2-0 (25-12 in 1st set) & #2 Kindred lost to Carrington (2-0) in the V.C. tourney. Not that it matters but I've seen all these teams play & right now Midkota & Carrington are both better than #1, #2, & #4 ranked teams in the fan poll,(JMO). District 7 & region 4 will be tough with Langdon (still the champ) until someone knocks them off, North Star is pretty solid & Cgtn. & Midkota. Carrington vs. Midkota could possibly play 3 more times this year (Carrington tourney--almost a given, District 7 tourney & region tourney. Can't really say much about the western teams, what I hear through the grapevine is Stanley is pretty good & lots of average teams after that.

You have to remember in Langdon's loss to Carrington that Langdon had two signifigant injuries. The match was tied 1-1 and Hart twisted her ankle right at start of third set and did not play rest of game. The makeshift lineup hung with Carrington. Also starting setter Downs hurt her knee in that match and missed the next six matches. Hart has just begun hitting in the last week. Langdon's other loss is to Kindred in Northern Cass tourney with Hart playing libero. Midkota I believe travels to the Langdon tourney in October. Midkota, Carrington and Langdon are very good teams. Should be interesting on Thursday to see how North Star handles Midkota. They only have one loss but have played the softest schedule of anyone in Region 4. I thought at beginning of year that Stanley would be tough. They looked tough at end of last year and did not lose anyone.
