casey buchholz, from oakes, is going to ndsu as a recruited walk-on. i haven't ever heard of such a term. i thought you were either recruited or a walk-on.

is this just a different term for a walk-on or is there actually a difference between a recuited walk-on, a recruit and a walk-on?

on a side note, congrats to mr. buchholz. he finished his high school career with a 148-31 record and had a couple of state titles as well as a 2006 triple crown.

I may be wrong but I believe it means that he got recruited but did not get a scholarship.

Their are tons of athletes who get recruited to walk on.  I know some people who have gotten letters from people to come to their college to walk on.
