Tanner may have to correct me, but I think he hit in the .500's his sophmore year and in the .400's last year.  If that's average, call me when you find some good players because you're not going to find many.
Tanner Adam is a good player, but batting .400 in north dakota isin't saying much. Now, that dosen't mean he's not a good player, has he ever faced some fast pitching, like, 85+ and did he get any hits?

I don't know many, but, heres a few, I didn't really cover Harvey baseball much in the last 4 years, until now, but I think Kevin Buxa, Casey Frantz, and Tyler Volk all had great soph./junior years, I wouldn't know, I wasn't on the team, maybe ask someone on the team back then. I guess I never even saw many games then. What about Grover, he was a good hitter. Bakkum, he could have hit that good, he's an excellent hitter. Wurtz from Thompson I'd be willing to bet did. Theres more, I just don't know them.

not saying this for severson and nichols because both are good players but for future post, a freshman goin 3-6 and 4-8 doesnt count.  a freshman who played every game the whole year.

Hey baseball, severson and nichols have started every game for Dakota Prairie since they were 8th graders. In 8th grade I bet they both hit atleast 300 and severson hit 3rd in the order and nichols hit 5th. As freshman severson and nichols both his over 500. As a 8th grader SEVERSON started at 2nd base and as a freshmen 2nd base.. Nichols started at left his 8th grade year and 3rd his freshman year.  As sophmores this last year they both hit over 500 again.  I played with them both in high school in legion.  As 8th graders they helped us to a 3rd place finish in the region and as freshmen we took 5th in state. They have played every gamem every play, every at bat since they were in 8th grade.

if you read my post again you can see that i clearly say "not saying this for severson and nichols because both are good players"  which means i wasnt talking about them.  and i follow that up with "but for future posts" meaning posts that are going to happen but not in the past.  which if i remember right, the severson/nichols post was BEFORE mine.

just to clarify on your mistake.

Some poster called Tanner "average" yet there have only been around 10 players  named so far that have his stats in back-to-back years.

I think it's just a play on words.  Saying someone is an "average" player, actually means he has a  good batting average.

tanner is above average......BA over .450.....good pitcher (held steele to 2 runs in 4 innings when their ace gave up 4 in 3).....argueably one of the top catchers in the state next year.....good player not average

Evan Nelson from Turtle Lake hit 531 his freshmen year and 609 his sophomore year thats pretty solid in a region with teams like Velva, Surrey, Mohall and Max Garrison and the pitching they bring to the table.

I don't really believe the .609. You're a good player but not that good. I guess a "good" bookkeeper (giving you hits instead of the fielder an error, cause lets be honest, alot of high school teams can't field that well) can make a player's stats better than they really are.

yes....i have played for both types of coaches, one who gives you a hit if you put the ball in play and get on base, the other made it seem like it had to be a line-drive in the gap to be a hit.  coudl hit .600 for one but with the same year hit .350 for the other.  it all depends on what type of book keeper you have...

That may be his on base percentage. A lot of coaches just put everything together to make the stats look better. So seeing how he could have gotten walked a lot, his average could have been as low as .200 if he got on a lot with errors that counted as hits.
