2007

with the 2006 legion season coming to a end, who does everyone think to be the best 2007 high school teams, and if they were to pitch their best pitcher, could they beat a class a team? what are some of your top hitters and pitchers for the 2007 h.s. season, and what do most of you think the state will rank the top 10 preseason poll next year...

Velva wont be nearly the same team in 2007, but look for them to be near the top of the region at the end of the year because they still have a great coach.

but you have to look at the players it is they are losing.  its different when you lose 5 starters from 5 bench players.

They lose weidler(OF), loftesnes(C) and kramer(OF). They return 6 starters. If they find some depth on the mound they'll be pretty good.

they will be good like you said, their pitching might be limited and their hitting will be pretty good

i give velva there props they are good... but you have to think baseball is kind of a different sport. it takes more than just an athlete to be a good baseball player. but dont get me wrong velva hits the ball well i just think they will struggle with pitching

You could be right. But good athletes also do make great pitchers. It just takes some experience and good coaching.

Bishop Ryan will be right at the top next year with the only impact player leaving being Huettl. they will have 2 starting seniors, 6 starting juniors and 1 starting sophmore......in 08 they will have 8 starting seniors and 1 starting junior.....they should be very good for the next two years

they only thing different about wood bats is that the sweet spot is smaller.  if a hitter finds the sweet spot he can hit a ball in the gap just as easy as he coudl with a metal bat.

Very true. If you find the sweet spot its gonna go a long ways. But the bats are slightly smaller (if u're using a -3).  They're still be home runs, but not near as many. Bunting will become a necessity no matter what team you are.
