Best Pitcher

Who is the best pitcher?
It's a round ball and a round bat, and you got to hit it square.

Best of section #5:

jeremy campbell from botno is decent....maybe not the best but definately tough to hit.....caleb heilman is solid when he is on......and travis bruner from velva has improved drastically....mixes really well...Clay Kallias from minot is also a top pitcher in the section

I wouldn't say Travis Bruner has improved drastically. He's always been really good, maybe this is just the first year you've seen him. Last year in Legion he beat Thompson in the state tourney so I would say that he's pretty dang good.

I think Zack Schaefer will be in the mix too. He proved it all year long and at state. He is a great pitcher and a great player  to play with.

I'd have to say Jordan Grover is somewhere on that list shutting out Thompson in the HS state tourney.

so? so your saying because its legion baseball, means hes not one of the top pitchers? Thompson was supposed to be the best team in state, he shut them out, I remember a 2 hit shutout.

well if you read the fine print it says legion ball it specifies it he could have been great in hs ball but if he dosnt play legion who cares this is for legion pitchers.

I know hes a decent pitcher but maybe it was "one good day" you cant say hes the best pitcher in the state just because he beat Thompson.  Where does that put the other 2-3 pitchers that beat them? Grover wasnt the first to do it.

Im taking nothing away from Grover.  he pitch a great game.  I was simply stating other pitchers have beat Thompson and some people are saying him winning that game was the greatest feat in the history of baseball.  Never did i say Grover wasnt a good pitcher.

Anyways the best pitcher in the state is Jeremy Misek from Turtle Lake although he plays for Washburn.

Misek isn't even CLOSE to bein the best pitcher in the state. You must only watch Washburn play. He's a decent pitcher, but nothing close to top in the state.

Jeremy Misek from Turtle Lake/Washburn is going to DOMINATE next year when everything switches to wood bats. LaMoure got 13 hits against Washburn in the Legion tourny, all but one were singles. Misek gave up 7-8 of these hits in 4 innings but all but one was a blooper, dinker, off the end of the bat roller that ended up in the right place. A lot of the hits he gives up can be attributed to metal bats.

He has a cut fastball that bores in on the hands and can be blooped or nubbed for hits. With wood bats, this will happen much less often. The bloopers won't have the distance to drop between the infielders and outfielders and the nubs won't have enough distance to cause problems. PLUS, he will break a lot of bats.

No, Misek may not be the best pitcher in Class B right now, but he has great mechanics, works deep into games (witness the 8 inning shutout against Beulah in 100 degree heat). Next year will be his year, mark my words.;)

he will be able to beat the teams that are in his region, but when he faces a good solid hitting team, he'll have a touger time, but their wont be tooo many great teams in hs ball next spring, talent really drops off
