Schools without HS baseball

Postby Flip » Tue May 18, 2021 9:20 am

How many schools are out there that don't offer HS baseball?
Some off the top of my head:
Linton
Strasburg
Ellendale
Edgeley
Kulm
Lisbon
I could very well be wrong on these too.

Edgeley is co-oped with LaMoure, it just isn't in the name.

I see leeds is cooped with North Star but maddock is not. Also i see Drayton listed as having coop with Valley=Edinberg but Valley-Edinberg is cooped with Park River. I wonder if they didn''t have team this year.

Wasn't that long ago when Enderlin was a top level HS team and summer team. I believe they went to state in Class B in the spring of 2019.

Pretty sure Lisbon school board voted against this. Alot in the community wanted baseball and softball but it was shot down because they thought it would hurt their track program.

With Hope-Page going with Maple Valley I wonder if that means Maple Valley is dropping Enderlin in their existing coops?

I hate this argument about "protecting" an existing sport. If that sport is as solid a program as they think than it doesn't need protecting and will be fine. How about giving kids a choice and letting them decide what sport they want to participate in? Too many times they use this argument instead of telling the truth that they just don't want to spend the money to create a new sport.

Lots of Class B Schools find a way to allow athletes to do both sports too...so they could feasible do Track and Baseball/Softball.

2017-2019 they were at Shiloh, currently have no idea?

At least Shiloh was listed as :Shiloh Christian/Strasburg/Linton Baseball but I think that was when Baumillers were driving up to play there, might be the wrong last name

I believe there are at least 2 Linton students on the roster this year, not sure about any Strasburg students. Linton co-oped with Bismarck High back when Kyle Carr was in HS. Kyle went on to the U of Minnesota and played minor league ball for a number of years and also played a few seasons with the St. Paul Saints in Independent League ball.
