DGF always involved in some controversy. New York Mills didn't play them in the championship game of their district after their coach got tossed in the previous game and wasn't allowed back in the tournament.

Yeah I heard about that last week...

This incident happened late at night on Saturday in the hotel...all that's been stated is Unsportsmanlike Conduct. In any case, Plato & Ely are formittable teams but the favorites right now have to be the ND teams in my opinion (this may change when I know what other teams will be added to the bracket)

"The Dillworth Glyndon Felton team was to play in the State Championship Game, but was disqualified from the tournament due to vandalism and misconduct at the hotel, Thursday and Saturday night."

That pretty much says it all right there...I assume Thursday's incident was a warning and then Saturday they crossed the line.

Well what's done is done...

Why would Las Vegas be in the division II tournament?

The central plains tournament hasn't been around that long for smaller towns is this the first year a ND team won it?

Interesting 2 teams that took 2nd at their state tournament were in the title game.

LaMoure got 2nd place in 2009. At the time, that was the highest place a ND or SD team had ever placed. Wahpeton must be the first ND team to win it.

So would you rather be Grafton with a state championship or Wahpeton with the Central Plains D2 title?

I think I'd rather be Grafton.

Maybe if Grafton had lost to Whap in the championship, you could make that argument a bit. But with Grafton going two and out, I'd rather be Whap right now.

I think Wahpeton is undoubtedly the best team in B Legion ball in ND. But Grafton played a great state tourney and stole it. Good for the Grafton "Spoilers". And congrats to Wahpeton for earning redemption.

I agree with this, in ten years I think if I were on the team I'd rather say I was a "state champ" than I was "central plains division two champ."

Instead of "central plains division two champ"...I'm sure most will just say "Regional Champ"...sounds better IMO.

If you know these kids from Grafton that were on the team, they are just glad to be able to say they didn't get another second place in something. :D

I'm sure if the tables were turned and Whap won state and Grafton won the regional, you'd have a different opinion.

It has nothing to do with the teams involved. If you say you're a state champ it needs no explanation. Trying to explain the central plains division 2 tournament leads to a lot of questions of what it actually is.

I am sure Wahpeton will say Central plains regional champions and Graftion will say American Legion Div 2 state tournament winners

Being the Central Plains D2 champ is no different than being the class B state champ. They're both the lower level of competition.

For the record, I'd rather win the regional.

I know the class A regional winner goes on to nationals, I'm guessing there are no nationals for this level?

What I'm saying is that they are both the lower level of baseball. If you're the class B champ, people will think the class A champ is better. If you're the Central Plains DII champ, people will say the DI champ is better.

What you say here may be true but it is not what you said above. Let me see.

CENTRAL PLAINS DIV 2 REGIONAL CHAMPION
or
NORTH DAKOTA STATE DIV 2 CHAMPION
