its hard to believe Velva is overrated but I can see where you are coming from...they dont face any great pitchers in their region and when they have they have struggled.
Assuming bishop ryan throws their ace(huettl) they may struggle at the plate considering they were beat by him 8-2 earlier this year. Pitching depth also seems to be a question for Velva.

Velva got six hits in three innings off of Huettl. They also put up 12 runs in 5 innings in a game againsHarvey's best two pitchers who throw in the 80's.

everyone knows 80 is good.....but if its straight with no curveball its nothing.  And kids that throw hard tend to use the fastball too much and not when good teams sit on it they get racked.

Even so, im saying that if they are going to face Huettl they are going to have to get their runs in better or something becuz huettl still only gave up 2 runs in that game

I'd like to know what pitchers you thought legitimately threw in the 80s (B schools).

I didnt say that there was a whole bunch of kids throwing 80.  What i said is if you are a good team and you sit on the heat you can hit him.

I'd still like to know what B school pitchers can hit 80....

there are 3 pitchers on the Thompson team that can hit 80.

Aaron and Tyler Kjemhus, and Jacob Wurtz. They have a couple more pitchers that are close to 80 if not at it.

james alderbach from lakota can hit 80, but he cant go a full game throwing that hard, he just hurt his rotator cuff last year, and he's only a sophmore, he's going to be a good ballplayer

Velva is over rated? If you recall Velva lost 8 of 9 starters from last year and were not given any credit at all in the beginning of the year. What, may I ask, is your definition of over rated.

velva is a good team, their hitters put the ball in play and they have a very strong defense, i think they will be tough to beat at state, definatley a contender if they have enough pitching at the final games

I saw him last summer and he throwing in the low 70's.  Did he get that much better?

he tore his rotator cuff last summer and pitched with it, that could explain it

he did last year before he tore his rotator cuff, this year he never threw 80 because he's still getting it healed
