I see the chalk getting through in the first round. The only possible upset in my mind would be Williston over Grand Forks. Nothing against GF, but Williston can put 10 on the board against any team in the tournament, plus they have the homefield advantage.

1st round:
Fargo over Mandan, Bismarck over V-City, Minot over Jamestown, Williston over GF
2nd round:
Minot over Fargo and Bismarck over Williston
3rd round:
Minot over Bismarck
Championship:
Minot over Bismarck again.

I think Minot, Bismarck, Fargo, Williston, and GF all have a very good chance at winning it all.  It just comes down to who is playing the best ball along with consistency, pitching, defense, and execution.

I like Minot to win it because of their deep pitching and hitting throughout the lineup.  But if Minot chokes like they have the last few years then expect Bismarck to win it.  Bismarck should go to the championship with their pitching.

You are assuming an all-west final.  That's a pretty big assumption.  Look for either Grand Forks or Fargo to be in the title game.  An east-west final is most likely.  Minot still  the favorite, but beatable.  Flashback to state high school.

If it is then it will be Fargo.  I dont see GF going far.  But I am thinking it will be an all west final.

i also agree that it will be an all west final.  in the final i'll go with bismarck over minot, just because of bismarcks deep pitching staff and good lineup

Yes I think a majority of people believe it is going to be an all west final. Personally I believe that the west is the better overall of the two sides in baseball while the east dominates hockey. Sure you could look back at this years high school season and point out the all east final to try to prove the east is equal if not better then the west, but I still believe that the west is the more dominant side of the state for Class A baseball for as long as I can remember (even if that isnt very long:)). But then again it is baseball and almost anyone can beat anyone, anyday. So i'm not counting the east teams about but I too believe it will be an all-west final.

To say the west as whole is dominant is a stretch.  I will agree Minot should be considered the best, but Fargo and Grand Forks are  as good as Bismarck.
Grand Forks is the dark horse.  They played 8 league games without  three starters who had pre-arranged excused absenses.  They are better than their record indicates.  That being said, I'll still pick Minot as the favorite.

Not only was it an all-west final, but the final three teams remaining were all from the west. Grand Forks and Fargo both looked pretty shoddy to me. Maybe Fargo would have been better with Ebert on the hill, but the East teams were nothing to write home about.

Agreed, and GF would have been better with Landry.  Ebert and Landry would have changed the whole complexion of the tournament.  But in the real world, neither was there, so give the west credit for being better.

just watchin that tourney u could tell the west was way better, and minot and williston r in a league of there own. williston would have won the championship if they had a deeper pitching staff. also 3 passed balls for williston gave minot 3 runs, u cant do that in the state championship. but wow elgie and lundy are absolute beasts. willistons mcale marstuen proly was the best pitcher in the tourney in my opinion goin 2-0 and goin a whole 9 innins against bismark to advance to the championship. congratulations to minot tho.

No way, Lundy 2 hit Fargo with 10 k and two days later put up a pretty solid performance against Williston in the championship. I believe he pitched 7 and 2/3 inn. and struck out 10 I think.
