A team that handed Qvale his first loss, beat Ebert twice for his only 2 losses of the season, and rocked Lundy, can't be that bad.   Remember, the coaches picked them #2 preseason in the EDC.

I dont think it was that much of a surprise.  It was a surprise they beat Minot the way they did.  But I believe they underachieved the whole season and they finally played to their potential when it all mattered.

they had about a 5 or 6 game stretch where they were missing a few kids due to hockey i believe.  that's alot of games, so the regular season record was a bit skewed.

Grand Forks had 2 hard hits in the game the home run and a line drive that was miss played by the outfielder which turned into a triple....they had 3 bunt hits that and a couple lazy GBs that got through the infield....i dont call that rockin

You're right.  Lundy is a very good pitcher, and the word rocked is not inteneded to diminish his skills.  Maybe you should brush up on one of the several definitions of rocked:

(3) : to astonish or disturb greatly <the scandal rocked the community>

I think that definition fits perfectly.  For the record GF had 6 hits, a HR that was crushed, a triple, a double, and 3 singles.  Lundy did walk three and Minot had 3 errors that certainly didn't help the cause.
