my guess is that frenzel stays at SS for HS and possibly legion if he chooses to play in ND. everybody that knows baseball knows that you play your best infielder at SS and for DHS, he is just that

im aware that he will be a 3B in college but for high school and if he stays for legion, he will be a SS

Look for Hunter Johnson to have a big year for Century. I thought he had a good year last year and a proved to be very good in legion ball. He's also a pretty good pitcher.

if andy tomanek is back...i would have to say he is one of the best defensive 3rd basemen in ND. he lets the ball take a bounce off of him and doesnt think twice. very solid defensively and a decent bat. his arm was kinda shot on him during legion and he ended up playing more 2B than 3B but ill throw him in all the same

Barnum and Braaten from North are a good infield duo. Braaten usually plays short but does switch and Barnum plays all over the feild but plays a great 3rd short or 2nd.

Arizona** not ASU..... But I agree, Frenzel is the only one who should be said in this "Best Player in 2009" topic

ya that is what the topic is supposed to be about..but it shouldn't be.. it should be about the best player(s) because we could just name the topic Frenzel then..

what about bullinger? nobody is throwing his name out there he will be prolly the best pitcher out there this year and the only one that has a ligit chance of shutting dickinson down everytime on the hill and he even hits well so he should be in the discussion as well

I definitely agree that Frenzel is one of the best players in the state, but the best . . . well for North Dakota maybe. I congratulate him on Arizona that's awesome . . . hope he gets playing time as a freshman. There are a few other players in this state that I would say are better, but I will leave that to you to figure out. I know of one that has gone to three showcases all over last summer by invitation only (didn't have to pay to show his talent) (White Sox, Royals, Twins) and was asked to play on the Mariner's team in July/August but turned it down because he is a team player and couldn't let them down during tournament time. He's a silent one that doesn't brag on himself at all. Everyone is so focused on Frenzel that they don't see the other talent in the state that is just as good if not better.

I believe Bollinger is the best player in the state, but because he wasn't born and raised in this state, does not get the attention he so deserves. But then again, he's a pretty quiet kid who doesn't really want the attention nor do his parents from what I can tell. At least he's played on teams outside the state of North Dakota and very successful with it. Frenzel is awesome for North Dakota and hope he does well wherever he goes. The short stop from Bismarck has more range than Frenzel.

Oh my god stop the presses, one player is better then frenzel in one minor catergory, there's no way he's the best player in the state now. You must dominate 35/35 catergories that go into a player to be considered the best. Seriously though what a joke, Frenzel is going to ARIZONA. Look at their roster, its all south west players, and they come up to north dakota for a player has to tell people that he is something special. Bollinger is an absoultely solid player, very very good pitcher and a very good hitter, but he is not GREAT at either. He will have a successful career at the college level but he wont have nearly the same accomplishments as Frenzel.
