we have broken about 8 bats here, those have been the cheap ones though in practice mainly, we've only broke 1 during a game

Mike Jones of Shanley has broken 8 by himself!</span>

I never blame myself when I'm not hitting. I just blame the bat and if it keeps up, I change bats. After all, if I know it isn't my fault that I'm not hitting, how can I get mad at myself?

K This is a good topic but I don't grasp the significance of breaking bats.. Is it a good or a bad thing. Cuz I've heard coaches tellin eachother how many their teams have broken and its like a competition. I dont get it...won't a good hitter hit the sweet spot everytime and NOT break bats?? some one explain please but I thot the winner scored the most runs...not the busted the most bats..

It also depends on the quality of wood the bat is made out of.

It is most of the school who pay the funds to buy the bats so it is which program has the bigger budget.

In 10 days, this fasinating topic will be one year old. I think we should all pause and reflect.

they sure must because here is an article from 5-9-08 by the AP about hitters and wood bats and the number of them that are being broken. fascinating stuff...
