Loomis was their clean-up hitter last year.  Adam Tescher and Zach Klabo both brought in some runs last year.  Drew Eichele can hit the ball too.

Yah..I wasn't sure who they all had, but did any of them play in the summer? If so, how did they do? As far as Batting Avg. etc.

Tescher didn't play in the summer.  Loomis and Klabo were both on the team that went to regionals.  And Eichele played on the team that went to the world series.  I am unsure about their summer numbers.

Loomis had a pretty nice season, although I dont think he had a hit at the regionals. Klabo hit around .230 this summer.

I believe that Wahpeton will not be that good.  Devils Lake will be decent.  But out of those three teams I think Jamestown will have the best shot.  From what I have heard they will have eight seniors starting, seven which started last year.  They will have a pretty good rotation.  They will have depth in the infield.  My predictions are

EDC

  1. Fargo North
  2. Jamestown
  3. GF Central
  4. Red River
  5. DL
  6. Fargo South
  7. West Fargo
  8. Shanley
  9. Wahpeton

I do not see Dickinson being that high. They do have some very good young talent and I do see them being that high next year but I do not think that BHS or DHS will be above Williston. I heard that Liffrig was planning on being back May 1. Has anyone heard elsewise? Williston will lack some arms and I do now know who they got coming up but as fas as the WDA i would say:

1) Minot
2) Williston
3) Dickinson? or High?
4) Dickinson? or High?
5) St. Mary's
6) Century
7) Beulah
8) Belcourt

4for4 i was wondering why you had BHS 6 because they have a lot of returning players?

I thought I was forgetting someone I just couldnt remember who. Well I would have to say Mandan above Beulah but not Century. I do think that Century and Mandan are rather close but I think Century has got a little more depth than Mandan.

My 2006 WDA predictions:

1.Bismarck - good experience back, solid pitching, overall no real holes, challenge here will be the reliance upon tooo many young players to improve and/or be in a position to help carry the team

2.Minot - they will again "reload", some good experience back, will hit and good pitching depth, will not be as solid or as deep as the previous few years but will be a contender for the crown again

3.Century - solid experience overall, good jr. class, should be able to score and play sound defense, pitching depth could be biggest weakness

4.Williston - solid overall, liffrigs situation will play heavily upon their outcome

5.St. Mary's - experienced players, only 2-3 with solid skills, will have trouble scoring runs, pitching depth real questionable

6.Dickinson - too young, solid coaching will makes them tough to deal with

7.Mandan - no real standouts, limited pitching

8.Beulah - few solid returnees, no pitching, stopper.

9.Belcourt - they need to reverse history before being considered above this slot.

Century barely has any expierence back.  Their top 2 pitchers will pretty good.  Their Junior class is alright only about 4 stand outs there.  I don't see them finished above 5th or 6th.  I think you mixed them up with Dickinson.  They will be one of the better teams in the west.

Josh Lagein and Alex Lundon from DL should hold their own in the EDC.

Mingo1: Century has experience back at every position, you might be confused with St. Mary's!!

Ming:

i am happy you have such pride in your school St. Mary's but at some time a cetain amount of reality has to come into play. You mentioned Klabo playing summer ball, so what see his stats?, Loomis is terribly overrated as a hitter or fielder, yes he can pitch, most of the time. I will bet you a communion wafer St. Mary's finishes much lower than your prediction, with Century and Dickinson ahead of you!!!

Not to mention all of the experience st. marys has back you have 2 players from sommerball that never touched the feild at regionals or state and the other returning starters you have would not have made that team if they tried out i will however credit you with erhardt and bohan

You're right Ming, Century has about 5 or 6 players back, all of which are solid defensively and can hit the ball. And your also right, St.Mary's has about the same amount if not more back, but look at it, how many does St.Mary's have back that can actually do anything on the field? I see Bohan and Earhardt and thats about it.

Does Dickinson have anyone other than Frenzel and Schroeder?  Nothing against St. Mary's but they just don't have the depth.  The Saints have some great kids but not the depth 1-9 in the batting order.  Hendrickson and Dauenhauer transferring to Bismarck High also hurts the Saints.

The Century outfield will be patrolled by Nate Schlosser, Evan Gessellchen and Chris Wenzel (a very athletic outfield).  The infield will include Skyler Geinert, Zac Wentz and Dustin Wenzel.  Wentz and Alex Allen will be 1-2 on the mound.  Make no mistake, the Patties may be thing on pitching but this team can hit.
