Shanley is going to have their work cut out for them regardless of who pitches...they made an incredible run in the EDC tourney...which is very similar to the run they made at State last year.

does the WDA post conference stats online like the EDC does? or are you just a parent or player with your hands on the Minot stat book?

Haven't been able to find any stats posted for WDC, maybe on the individual schools websites. As far as Zafra against Shanley, my guess it would be in relief with Minot's starter on a short leash. The 6-0 with 30 strikeouts is probably correct though.

STATE Rankings
1. Fargo Davies
2. Bismarck
3. Dickinson
4. Century

East wins 3 out of 4 opening round games making it 10 out 12 in the last three years. That makes the preseason coaches poll not even close which had the West dominating the East winning 3 out of 4 first round games and the only East team that it did have winning (Davies) loses it first round game. Davies is the only East team to lose first round games the past 3 years. Way to go East teams dominating the West teams again despite what the preseason coaches poll predicted must of been only West teams and Davies that participated in that poll. Go Packers make it back to back state titles!!!

Why Davies did not pitch there best pitcher Quinlann in the first round is anybodys guess but with needing a first round win to win state seems like not a smart move on their part. If he would have pitched the first game the odds would be greatly in Davies favor that they win.

Good luck to all the teams at State. It is not every sport where the East has been dominating the West in fact it is more likely that the West has been dominating the East so when the trend has been in the East favor we are excited about it.

Not a shot at the kid, more so at his biggest fan for drooling over him constantly.

It's ironic to me that such a small, under-the-rader shanley team could go to back-to-back state titles, and win one of them, and the great Davies teams that one would think were sent from above only managed to win 3 games in 3 trips.

No, you've got it all wrong. Shanley is the team that is sent from above.
