The EDC site shows completely different standings now that Central won again.

Here is what it shows as the final standings:
1. West Fargo
2 Red River
3. GF Central
4. Fargo North
5. Fargo Davies
6. Wahpeton
7. Shanley
8. Fargo South
9. Devils Lake
10. Valley City

According to ARTICLE IV of the EDC By-laws which say:
When seeding EDC teams from the Regional to State Tournament, the following principle will be used: “winners advance based upon pre-tournament seeding, unless the lower-seeded team defeats the higher seed during region tournament play. This will be used in all bracketed tournaments.

Here are the EDC seedings/match ups (they do not match what is posted for final standings on EDC, but it is a cut/paste off the same EDC site publishing the brackets):

THURSDAY, MAY 23th:
GAME 1, 7:00 PM @ Bennett: #8 Fargo South Bruins -vs- #1 West Fargo Packers
GAME 2, 5:00 PM @ North HS: #7 Fargo Shanley Deacons -vs- #2 Grand Forks Central Knights
GAME 3, 7:00 PM @ North HS: #5 Grand Forks Red River Roughriders -vs- #4 Fargo North Spartans
GAME 4, 5:00 PM @ Bennett: #6 Wahpeton Huskies -vs- #3 Fargo Davies Eagles

It is always interesting how the bracketing seems to benefit the Fargo teams though....

#2 Central:
Win over #3 Davies 5-4
Win over #4 North 9-4
Lost to #5 Red River 5-12
-1 Run differential

#3 Davies:
Lost to #2 Central 4-5
Win over #4 North 6-4
Win over #5 Red River 9-3
+7 Run differential

#4 North:
Lost to #2 Central 4-9
Lost to #3 Davies 4-6
Win over #5 Red River 5-0
-2 run differential

#5 Red River:
Win over #2 Central 12-5
Lost to #3 Davies 3-9
Lost to #4 North 0-5
-4 run differential

you are looking at the wrong part of the EDC constitution. Try the competition by-laws, Article III: Criteria for tie-breaking. but hey, they're just trying to screw Red River and help out the Fargo teams (ya know, the teams Red River was tied with and lost to), and that other Grand Forks team.

That is not how you do run differential, or otherwise it still would be screwed up. Run differential is typically the overall differential, which matches what was posted as the final standings last week. As for the by laws, I read them thoroughly (accidentally copy/pasted wrong part) and it says first to use head to head, then run differential. Normally, and I have run a lot of leagues, if head to head is spread out and no team beat everyone, you go directly to the overall run differential, again matching what was posted on the EDC site last week. The explanation I got after posting is this: GFC and Davies were 2-1 (with respect to the teams tied at 6-3) and since GFC beat Davies, they are seed #2. GFRR and North were 1-2 using the same criteria, and North beat GFRR, so they are seed #4. That is how this league chooses to deliberate it and it sure seems to favor the tourney match ups for Fargo, and that is all I was saying. We simply can agree we see the methodology for seedings differently....it is simply not the way I have seen it done in multiple other leagues. And NO, I do not think it is to "screw Red RIver, rather it was just an interesting way to figure it out. I will agree though, if RR would have simply won their games like WF, then their would be no issues, they put themselves in that situation.

FIRST Tie-breaker (GFC, Davies, North, GFRR)
GFC (2-1) def. Davies 5-4 so therefore they receive the #2 seed
Davies (2-1)
North (1-2)
GFRR (1-2)

SECOND Tie-breaker (Davies, North, GFRR)
Davies (2-0) def. both North & GFRR so therefore they receive the #3 seed
North (1-1)
GFRR (0-2)

THIRD Tie-breaker (North & GFRR)
Fargo North def. GFRR 5-0 so Fargo North receives the #4 seed and GFRR the #5

Run4Fun...that is what I just said above, it just is not the way I have seen it done in the past. But, if that is the EDC by-law, then that is the correct way. Thanks for all the updates this year...it has been interesting and I hope we see some good baseball weather for the EDC tourney!
