that is pretty good for north meaning that they are the only team using wood bats in the tournament. all the cities team are usuing aluminum and if both teams were using the same kind of bat i wouldve expected north to come out on top

Apparently only half of the starters played for North up in the Cities.  Bergeron, Bombenger, and Shelton were three that I know of who didn't play.  It's weird that the middle infield didn't play.

Central's gonna have to beat a few legitimate conference opponents before people start to give them the respect they want.

The bottom pushed Grand Forks Central over the top Monday.
The bottom three hitters in the Knights' batting order all contributed in the top of the seventh inning, helping Central produce the game-winning run in a 2-1 Eastern Dakota Conference high school baseball victory against Grand Forks Red River.
In the nightcap of the doubleheader, Red River got a split with an 8-2 win in a nonconference game.

11-1? Wow. Did that game make it 7 or was it cut off early?  Flacksbarth impressive with a wood bat homer in WF.  Anyone there to give a recap of the first game?

just a guess....but since the winning pitcher threw 6.1 innings im pretty sure it went 7....still representing central nicely.....keep up the good work

horsager was definitely off mentally. he would get deep in the count and then serve a pitch up. he balked in a run at one point and you could tell he was flustered with himself (throwing the ball into the ground after the balk was called).

i saw on the news south split with wahpeton with south losing 6-1 and winning 4-0. wahpeton showing signs of coming out of the cellar or just catching south off gaurd?

Horsager was definately off mentally.  He was absolutely shot after the Sheets double and Flacksbarth homerun in the 1st.  He was telling WF's coach to pull him when he came out to talk to him after the homerun.  He is a good pitcher, but he just left everything up all day long and North hit the cover off the ball (14 hits) in the first game.

And I believe Wahpeton is coming out of the cellar and they are lead on the mound by junior Nick Tollefson who is 2-0 against Shanley and South.
