Why is Carrington at regional not Thompson the winner of state tournament?

someone will know (probably Run), but I'll guess it has to do with football practice. Thompson is 9 man and started this week while Carrington is 11 man and doesn't start until next week. I'm not 100% sure 11 man starts next week, but I think it does.

That was my guess...seems logical. I think Carrington knew before the title game

That's to bad for Thompson because it something these kids worked for many years and now they don't get to play in regional because of another sport. I think they should have been able to go compete and were still in summer vacation from school yet. I think baseball here in the state always get short end of scheduling for other sports.

I think the legion coach is also the football coach. I'm sure that plays into it too.

State rules on practices would have made them be very non-competitive in the 1st game of the season or even could have led to forfeit. 9-Man practices started on Monday...players would have missed at least 2 or 3 practices (assuming they could have done both in same day M-W). First 9-man games are August 17th.

I think a lot of people don't realize that the Div. 2 Central Plains Tournament is a non-advancing tournament. It's not uncommon for a team to decline the invitation. I think this years tournament is also a week later then last year. I would much rather see a tournament where the top A or B teams get to face off against some of the AA teams in the state.

Last year's schedule was an anomaly. The Division 2 tournament normally does overlap football practice time, at least for 9-man.

It did this year for 11 man. I know that Park River decided a head of time that if they won the state title that there were going to decline the invite.

West Fargo guaranteed to play in the Title being the last undefeated team left!

I've never understood why legion runs their tournaments like this. I don't think it's fair to WF or the NE team.

Rivershark stated above that division 2 regional is non advancing but last night on the sports they announced that Fargo Bombers would be advancing to legion world series. So what is the real deal here is there change or was it mistake last night on the sports.

Non-advancing...Division 1 is only advancing tournament
