1st grand forks central they didn't lose much.
2nd red river lost some talent but can replace.
3rd Cheyenne, Hayden Reynolds, devin bush, and nate Hanson will lead group.
4th fargo Shanley lost one starter, Sandy, fritz, swanson, dickyser, they have quality pitching and the best coach in the edc.
5th fargo north hegstad can beat anyone in the state, overall they will be young with a lot of sophomores.
6th fargo Davies, sanden will be really good, along with Luke and Jimmy
7th valley city they have the second best pitcher in the state they will be just below 500
8 fargo south, Bryant davis and Honl will be really good, the pitching will be rough they key for them is no errors. They're coaches do not know how to manufacture runs.
9 whapaton they will just straight up be bad. No big names
10 west fargo, absolutely rebuilding year, they return hunter Ulmer but that's about it.
11 devils lake they got lucky lay year many times not again though. They may be able to knock off south

OK...I mostly agree with the relative ranks and SOME player/team/coaching assessments for the East... I won''t go into itemized detail. Some of your opinions are misguided, IMO. But what about the West?? The thread title implies the State, not just EDC. Certainly, some of the West teams belong in this conversation!

Two words for Fargo South, Andy Pugliano. If you don''t know who this kid is you live in a cave. Last year for Post 2, he not only was one of the better pitchers. He never made an error all season. Breaking records as a rookie at that level is impressive. The kid also has been lifting what seems like everyday and has been getting stronger. He did a velo camp and online it said he hit 87 mph. That is some heat for only a Junior in high school. And after seeing him in a hitting session, I truly believe he is a 5-star player. Lets just put it this way, If you put him on the mound and let him hit in the line up, you mine as well just chalk up a win because he is unstoppable.

1. Valley City- they're always pretty good
2. Wahpeton- great small ball and great pitching
3. Devils lake- Mertens is probably the best athlete in the state
4. North- good pitching, pretty young team but like Valley City they are always pretty good
5. West Fargo- No pitching, but they will still be pretty solid
6. Sheyenne- not much going for them but they have a lot of good athletes
7. South- Pugliano and Kennedy will carry this team
8. Shanley- rebuilding year; lost literally everyone
9. Central- Same with Shanley, lost entire team
10. Red River- not really sure about this team didn't get the chance to see them much last year
11. Davies

1. Grand Forks Central- Had a solid regular season and most likely will again. Having a lot of returning players is always helpful in High School.
2. Fargo Shanley- Same as Grand Forks, lost no one too important. young kids and with Swanson and Sandy on the mound, they have a solid shot in tournament play.
3. Red river- Always have been solid and can be once again if players show up like they are supposed to.
4. Fargo North- A lot of pitching especially with Hegstad. Hitting will be key for this team. Games will have to be low scoring in order to succeed.
5. Fargo Davies- With three players you can only get so far. Sanden will succeed again this season but other than that, there is no one impressive enough to back him up.
6. Sheyenne- New school, new team, great coach. However, most of these kids haven't played a varsity inning and when push comes to shove, they won't know how to compete at first.
7. Valley City- They have something they possibly have never had, an ace. With some decent at bats in game with Rodriguez on the mound could end up with a win. However, People seem to be hyping him up more than he really is. He wasn't impressive enough to be even considered to be a top 3 pitcher in EDC.
8. West Fargo- Other than Strahm and Gooding, West Fargo had no one special. Pitchers are crucial and that is what they are missing. Hitting wise they will have problems if they are behind which is not good for a team that doesn't have the pitching to shut a team down.
9. Fargo South- Andy Pugliano will carry this team on the mound and that's it. Their hitting will be non existent. The coaching hasn't been liked down there and if kids can't follow their coach they can't get better. Look for this team to have multiple loosing streaks in the season.
10. Wahpeton- This is a classic team looking for some possible kid that is young and is a stud, which is very unlikely.
11. Devils Lake- Haven't been impressive for years and that will continue.
