By the way it sounded, BHS looked really good against North. My guess is that they will walk through the WDA and the playoffs. The teams/talent are really down this year.

BHS-Should be an exciting game
STM-should be a somewhat close one
DIC-Just going with the ND team
MIN-Dont know much about Shanley, Minot usually fields a good team
GFRR-Don't know much about GFRR, I would say im going with the underdog here
JMSTN-Had a pretty good end to last season
FN-Haven't seen Man. play, So I will go with North on this one

Sat.
FS-Should be an easy game for them unless they play like they did last weekend then Williston could win, could go both ways I guess.

If South cant move past their loss last week, Williston might be able to pull it off, its a very long shot but it could happen.

Just read the polls today and it shows BHS number 1 and South number 2. Do you agree with this poll?

you ask the question...and now i will give you the answer...

i've been around football in north dakota for the past 15 years both as a coach, player, referee, and fan. i've wrote countless newspaper articles and sports magazine articles. and the 1 thing ive been watching in north dakota is willistons football program, it seems to me no matter what the coaches have to work with they always are able to compete and even tho they've had some bad years and some good years there always playing like they want to win...but from what i heard (from very respected sources) about there last game and skirmish is that they were playing with just the kind of fire that it takes to pull off a big second week upset against the number 2 team.... theres a chance (not realy) that im wrong....but i doubt it. and if ur a gambling person.... you'll go with my picks

thanks you instigator for backing up your statement. i think you make a valid point and that anything can happen in football, no matter what the odds are. look at the super bowl last year...

I believe we will see an upset this weekend. I do believe Williston can steal a victory from South. They would have to play one heck of a game but, in high school football anything is possible. I didnt watch the fargo game but, from playing them last year with the seniors they had that lost a lot to graduatation and I just dont think they have it in them this year to make it 3 in a row, especially opening the season like they did aganist Edina

It's the same EXACT thing they said the year before. However, they didn't have to play Edina the opening game of the season last year. I do think that South got a big punch in the gut from that game, but they needed a wake up call. If they want to win this year, they're going to have to earn it, just like Horner and the seniors from last year did. If South played Edina last year, they might just as well have lost too. The year before that, I think they'd probably win (2006), however.

I don't think the upset will come from Williston, it just isn't going to happen. I predict that the 2nd+ Strings of south will be seeing some time in the 3rd/4th quarters.

I know we all would love to kick South down in th dirt but it's just the first week and they are the state champs until Nov... They have a program that produces a winning combitions and just keeps reloading.

I was at he BHS Fargo North game and BHS didn't look as good as Fargo North looked bad. I think some of the better Class "A" teams could have beat them. Example: BHS was up 16-0 with 8:04 remaining in the first qurater and their offense hadn't set foot on the field. Two blocked punts that were recovered in the endzone and a botched snap out of the back of the endzone. I'm not trying to take away from the BHS performance in the game but I just think that Fargo North, talent and speed wise is just not a competitor. I wouldn't be suprised if they lost to Mandan tonight.

Just my unbiased opinion on the AAA ranks.

Could not agree more..There team is very fast and athletic..There QB is really accurate and smart..South is also cmoing off a bad loss and Williston is coming off a win to a team they've beat maybe a few times in the past 20 yrs..If South slips Williston will run with it..Even though Willistons defense could be a tad weak
