Divide County over Westhope-Newburg

Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood over Glenburn

Berthold-Our Redeemer's over Surrey

Williams County over Trenton-Trinity Christian

Looks like top vs bottom in region 5 this week. I doubt if any of these games are even close.
It may not be the end of the world, but you can see it from here!

Nothing from Region 3? Where's our North Border and Dakota Prairie bloggers???? Did they graduate and lose interest? Come on, tell us how good they really are. And is Lakota for real?

In the Preseason Poll, Dakota Prairie 1, Lakota 2, and North Border was 3. In one poll Thompson was 4 and in another Central Valley was 4.

North Border and Dakota Prairie play each other this Friday (Sept 5). Both teams are 2-0. I am not positive on who Lakota plays this week, but on September 12 (next friday) DP travels to Lakota. So this next couple weeks could shape the seeding for Region 3. All three teams lost some of their main offensive players from last year have been helped out by having pretty decent lines returning.

A couple notable fill-ins from last years starters that will be the key to their years:
Tate Aronson (sophomore) has replaced Lance Johanson for Lakota at RB
Richard Dolzell (junior) has replaced Tanner Carpenter for North Border at QB
Tyler Luehring (Junior) has replaced Seth Nichols for Dakota Prairie at QB

This year I don't think there will be the big statistics out of certain players like last year, but I think teams are going to have to rely on more of a team effort and defense in order to win. I know Lakota and Dakota Prairie haven't changed their offensive schemes, but I am not sure about North Border.

Thanks Pakkyzoo. Keep the info coming. I see Thompson cleaned FSHP's clock. They must be getting on track. Central Valley got pummeled by Hillsboro but they were missing their center/DL Sam Moen. Not that it would have turned the game around but CV was having trouble with snaps and that really threw off the timing of their offense. They will be better when Moen returns in a couple of weeks.

Wells returns everybody from last year and St John only lost a couple, mainly their QB. Both teams should compete for the region title....this game could even decide the region champ this early in the season.

Let's just throw out the upset pick of the week and say Hillsboro gets upset in a close game. The starters from Hillsboro have yet to play even 2 full quarters of a game so maybe conditioning will be a factor. Just got to wonder if a quick hitting passing game can keep the Burros backpedalling. And who knows, maybe a few Hillsboro turnovers and Richland pulls off the big upset.

another game i like is dunseith vs tgu. i know everyone expects tgu to roll over dhs, but i think they can pull it out and beat the odds. if they don't make any mistakes like they did against 4-winds and play the kind of offense that i know they can play they might win. ya heard it hear first sweethearts

I need to brag a little.

This may be the upset prediction of the season How much closer can you get?

Gotta hand it to you Man. Hillsboro turnovers, Richland tough in the second half, passing game that Hillsboro couldn't defend. You were right on the money.

Erbes ran wild in the 4th quarter. HIllsboro could not get a stop when they needed it. And it sure looked like Richland wanted it more.

Now Hillsboro has to figure out how they will react to this. Will they put their tail between their legs or will they get to work and get better.

CS over Hettinger!

Gotta give credit to the CS defense on this one. 7 turnovers including a 91 yard fumble return for a TD! They also stopped Hettinger 4 times on 4th down in the red zone. Looking at the box score on this one shows Hettinger with nearly 400 total yards (Including two 100 + yard rushers) compared to CS's 180. Good job Wildcats! Where to play with heart after getting trounced by HR last week.

I gotta be honest never saw that coming at all. Even more surprising was Shiloh over Wilton-Wing to get their first ever victory in 9-man football
