FOAM LAKE, Sask. - Team North Dakota's Michael McAtee set the tone early as he returned the opening kickoff 88 yard for a touchdown and N.D. avenged last year's loss with a 38-19 win over Team Saskatchewan Saturday.
McAtee finished with three touchdowns, one on a 1-yard run and one on an 8-yard pass from Tanner Carpenter, and was named the N.D. Offensive Player of the Game. McAtee finished with 116 yards rushing. Jake Cahill finished with a team-high 14 tackles and was named the Defensive Player of the Game for Team N.D.
Also scoring touchdowns for Team N.D. were Tommy Zinke on a 7-yard run and Reid Haagenson on a 5-yard run. Zinke threw for 153 yards, while Michael Good caught four passes for 69 yards to lead the offense.
Along with Cahill's defensive performance, Haagenson and Brandon Cobb each finished with seven tackles. Matt Enget and Good each finished with an interception for Team N.D.
